It's been common knowledge for a while now that the Shazam Family would be appearing in
Shazam! as their likenesses have been featured in promo art, action figures, and Funko Pops (the spoiler tag above is just in case some of you may not be aware of that).
Due to the fact that their appearance in the movie is presumably supposed to be a surprise, Warner Bros. and New Line have declined to reveal who is playing them, but thanks to
a leaked photo on Reddit, we can finally confirm who will be suiting up as the superpowered versions of Billy Batson's foster family on April 5th.
They are: Adam Brody (Freddy), Meagan Good (Darla), Michelle Borth (Mary), Ross Butler (Eugene), and D.J. Cotrona (Pedro).
As of right now, we don't know how large their parts are in Shazam! but the stage is no doubt being set for them to take on a far more significant role in proceedings somewhere down the line.
That will certainly be fun to see, especially if Warner Bros. takes the lead from Geoff Johns' new comic book series featuring the group. Either way, the DC Extended Universe now has a brand new superhero team and while it's not quite the Justice League, this is still pretty damn cool.
