Rosario Dawson Says Sin City 2 Will Pay Tribute To Brittany Murphy

Still no news as such on the much talked about sequel, but one key cast member reckons she knows one thing that we will see if/when the film gets into production..

We know Robert Rodriguez plans to make it(after Spy Kids 7?), we know all the cast and crew are eager to return. But we don't know what story the film will follow or when to expect it to get off the blocks. Speaking to MTV about her new film Unstoppable, Rosario Dawson reiterated that everyone wants to get moving, but added that the sequel will pay tribute to Brittany Murphy, the actress that portrayed Shelly in the first film and died tagically last year..

"I have not heard very much except that Robert [Rodriguez] is still insistent that we’re going to make it and we’re going to make sure to put something in there for Brittany [Murphy] to recognize her. Unfortunately it’s been so long now and she’s not with us anymore and she was a huge integral part to that first film, it would be important to do that. I’m even more inspired to get it done now.

Shelly does feature quite prominently in a couple of Sin City stories we have yet to see. Does this mean we will see her role recast in honor of Brittany Murphy? Or will they perhaps use stock footage to integrate some of her actual performance into the film? The technology is certainly there. Anyway, lets just hope things get moving sooner rather than later on this. Rodriguez has said that it will never be too late for Sin City 2..

"No, never, but I just don't want to wait that long, I know Frank doesn't want to wait that long."

Good! Get moving Mr Cowboyhat, the world does not need another Spy Kids movie.
