Tom Holland's SPIDER-MAN Will Also Return In A Future Marvel Studios Movie; Producer Amy Pascal Comments

The Spider-Man news keeps coming as it's now been revealed that the web-slinger will also appear in a currently undisclosed future Marvel Studios movie. Find more on that and comments from Amy Pascal here!

A little earlier, we told you that Disney and Marvel Studios have reached an agreement with Sony Pictures that will see Spider-Man remain part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for his third film. Now, it's been confirmed in the press release announcing the news that, "As part of the arrangement, Spider-Man will also appear in a future Marvel Studios film."

Looking over the Phase 4 slate, it's impossible to say what that might be, especially as there's not currently another Avengers movie on the horizon (at least not that we know of). However, with rumours swirling that Fantastic Four is eyeing a 2022 release, it would certainly be fitting for Spidey to appear there given their many connections in the comic books.

In related news, longtime Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal has also weighed in on the arrangement. "This is terrific. Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in Far From Home and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes," she says. "This has been a winning partnership for the studios, the franchise and the fans and I’m overjoyed it will continue."

Needless to say, it's an exciting time to be a Spider-Man fan, and with hints from Kevin Feige that the hero will appear in both the MCU and Sony's Spider-Verse, it sounds like Tom Holland is going to be very busy indeed over the next few years.

As always, stay tuned for additional updates!

@Nightwing1015 - this was obv disney's plan from the start. hoped they'd get a campaign going to pressure sony to give concessions, it didn't gain enough traction, back to original deal sony offered on day 1

Interesting to note 2020 will be the first year Spidey doesn't appear in the MCU since his first appearance in Civil War

So, Thor 4 is getting pushed back, no?

2021 would be the definition of OVER-saturation...
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 9/27/2019, 9:28 AM
@KnifeWasTooSlow - Oversaturate me, Feige. Oversaturate the [frick] out of me.

Jeight8 - 9/27/2019, 9:31 AM
@KnifeWasTooSlow - I would much rather have oversaturation from an mcu spider-man film in 2021 than from a screwball/jackpot/kraven/rocket racer or whatever the hell other solo movies Sony plans.
KnifeWasTooSlow
KnifeWasTooSlow - 9/27/2019, 9:34 AM
@Jeight8 - I think it's too much, 3 a year was already enough, 4 MOVIES and SHOWS in the same year is waaaaay too much, 2020 seems ideal.

@TheDoctor1225 - Aww Spidey in the F4 would be [frick]ing amazing.

Maybe we'll get the mcu version of

If peter is still in hiding.

My money right now though may be multiverse of madness, if they are talking about him crossing cinematic universes. Honestly I don't know though.
