Oh man, oh man. What could've been...Sony essentially screwed Sam Raimi over with plans to reboot the Spider-Man franchise while he was busy trying to find the right story for Spider-Man 4. Unfortuantely he couldn't, & now the world will never know what the movie was going to be like.
Fortunately, though, we were able to see what the video-game adaptation was going to be like back in June (Yes, they got pretty far into development before the whole thing was scrapped). Now, we have even more to go off of, as the Wii version, which was being developed by Eurocom, has a released & playable prototype.
The build contains two parts of unfinished & untextured areas to play through. There's also a debug menu that contains test-hubs, where you can test out the web-swinging & combat. You can also view different areas from the game such as Chinatown, & a few VFX demonstrations. It all looks pretty good & detailed for a Wii game,
a helluva lot better than 3, that's for sure!
If you want to try out the prototype for yourself, be sure to swing on by

(Note that it won't work on the latest version of Dolphin. It's recommended that you use Dolphin 5.0-8582.)
