SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Premiere Duped By Hannibal Buress Lookalike

Whoops! Apparently Eric Andre has rubbed off on his friend, as it seems the actor sent a double in his place, and nobody noticed it wasn't him!

Some people say actors of color can't catch a break in Hollywood, but at least one did today, as a Hannibal Buress lookalike crashed the Spider-Man: Homecoming premiere by claiming to be Hannibal Buress. People noticed the double when he interviewed the Tamara Krinsky, one of Marvel's employees who was covering the event on their livestream.

Now, while Buress claimed on Twitter that the person who was both visibly clearly not him and sounded absolutely nothing like him was in fact really him, apparently earlier today in a now-deleted Instagram post, he promised $500 to anyone who could go to an event in his place. It seems the lucky fellow was this guy, and it took till an on-air interview for someone to notice. Naturally, as you can imagine, the interview with this deceptive double has been taken down from Marvel's official YouTube page.

@Erik10101 - I believe it was actually Tamara Krinsky. Certainly not the first time people were mistaken for other people, as this article notes. haha

How did nobody notice? These guys look nothing alike! Well, I mean, they are both men, are both black, both bald but with some facial hair, both have 2 eyes, 2 ears, one nose and a mouth, both wear clothing, so I guess they are identical.

Well, we know who isn't coming back for the sequel. I can't see either Marvel or Sony being particularly happy being conned. You just don't play that game with your employer -especially when its done to embarrass. I thought the actor looked different but I don't follow Hannibal's career that closely so I just let it go. Both the imposter and Martin Starr's interviews were uncomfortable to watch. Starr just seemed out of it during portions of his interview.

I need to go back and look at the YouTube videos again. But this could explain why Marvel Entertainment took down the original video and replaced it by splitting the livestream in half.
