There are a lot of interesting bits and pieces in the below video interview from G4TV, but none more so than director Marc Webb's answer to which villain we might see in the planned sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. While he refused to directly answer the question for fear of creating too much of a stir, Webb revealed that the Green Goblin, Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio are his top three villains. So, what are the odds one of them turns up in the upcoming sequel?! If the embedded video below doesn't work, click HERE.

Be nice for Venom to get his fair shake. The Green Goblin....eh... I just think this whole Spiderman reboot thing is too soon. 2016 or 17 would have been a good time to do it.

So it won't be surprising if Green Goblin is the villain TASM 2.
BassMan
BassMan - 4/28/2012, 11:30 AM
kraven would have worked well as a secondary villian to the lizard. a big game hunter trying to catch the ultimate game. then switches his aim to spiderman later in the movie. good scenes involving kraven hunting the lizard, spider man fighting them both off. mysterio would be really nice if done correctly though
Zarog
Zarog - 4/28/2012, 11:31 AM
Mysterio could be.......well cool, but he's never a very good villain without some kind of supporting cast. I wouldn't mind them doing a trilogy based off of Adam Troy Castro's' Sinister Six trilogy. That would show off a lot of villains for Spidey and could make great scripts for films.
SpideyMark
SpideyMark - 4/28/2012, 11:32 AM
I don't mind if the next Villain is Mysterio or The Green Gobblin, but Kraven...Please NO!I don't like him I think he is not a good villain for me.And another villains could be Electro or Shocker for the sequel too.
PaulRom
PaulRom - 4/28/2012, 11:34 AM
I never was big on Mysterio to be honest. Kraven, maybe (would've worked well with Lizard). Would love to see Goblin again, but with a costume akin to the comic version this time.

Best Spidey villain is still Venom.
Zarog
Zarog - 4/28/2012, 11:39 AM
@wombraider Of course it's going to be in it's own universe. Spidey's rights are owned by Sony.
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 4/28/2012, 11:43 AM
Mysterios? Yes. Kraven? No. The only time Kraven was cool was Kraven's Last Hunt. Unless they make him like that, I don't want to see him on big screen.
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 4/28/2012, 11:43 AM
*Mysterio
TonyChu

It would have been nice to have Kraven in this new Spidey reboot and have him hunting the Lizard as a prize.
CrimsonDynamo
CrimsonDynamo - 4/28/2012, 11:48 AM
Poster looks like an unused cover for one of the last 2 Activision Spidey games... all the recent ones do in fact...
Way too soon for a reboot... but I really want this to do well. Should have released this mid-June, after its first 2 weeks in July, tickets sales are gonna drop significantly when Batman opens...
TonyChu
TonyChu - 4/28/2012, 11:49 AM
I think Shocker would make a pretty cool side villain, maybe a villain Spidey have to take on while facing the main villain.
AlexDeLarge87
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/28/2012, 11:49 AM
Osborn needs to be in the next film thats a fact. But from those choices i would choose Mysterio.
My choices Hobgoblin, Morbius, Electro, Chameleon, Shocker,
elessarundomiel2382
elessarundomiel2382 - 4/28/2012, 11:51 AM
Mysterio would be a hard villain for Spidey as he would have similar powers to Loki. And Peter would have to use his brains to beat him.
monstalova
monstalova - 4/28/2012, 11:51 AM
Kraven is great. Not sure how it will translate to film? Mysterio not a big fan... Please someone put RHINO in a spider-man movie!
TonyChu
TonyChu - 4/28/2012, 11:51 AM
@ CrimsonDynamo That depends on how good TASM really is. I do think that its going to do good but I think they should had gone with a late May or early June release date, so they don't have to worry about that. Thus giving all comic book films a good chance at the box office.
scarecrow007
scarecrow007 - 4/28/2012, 11:52 AM
Shit Villains! No Venom or Carnage!
headlopper
headlopper - 4/28/2012, 11:52 AM
Meh.

1. Electro
2. Venom
3. The Daily Bugle and JJJ before BND believe it or not.
headlopper
headlopper - 4/28/2012, 11:54 AM
Jameson and the Bugle were as troublesome for Spidey as some of his worst enemies.

Spider Slayer anyone?
AlexDeLarge87
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/28/2012, 11:54 AM
Osborn sides with another villain. Thats i wanna see in the next film.
Plus another costume! :)

AlexDeLarge87
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/28/2012, 12:01 PM
headlopper@ Robot Master and spider slayers would be awesome! That would give Osborn a reason to be in the next film! He fires Mendel Stromm or steals his invention or something and then Stromm starts to terrorize him.
Somehow Spidey gets middle of all that shit and has to OBVIOUSLY destroy Stromm´s plans.
Equivocal

@headlopper:

I totally agree with you on JJJ was great before BND... pretty much EVERYTHING before bnd, I'd like to see Kraven tho.

SpiderFan35
SpiderFan35 - 4/28/2012, 12:21 PM
Mysterio would be cool but it is clear that the Ultimate universe is a major influence on Webb so it could end up being this, and then the fans will be raging all over again.

@ZangetzuBLK I'm hoping it is. James Horner is one of my favorite composers next to Hans Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith, Steve Jablonsky, and Brian Tyler.

@ SuspenseSmith I thought it was the other way in the comics and Chameleon wanted revenge for Kravens death.
