SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Climbs Towards $800M Domestic; New Teaser Spotlights All Three Webheads

As the movie climbs towards $800M domestic, Sony Pictures has released another teaser promo for the upcoming Blu-ray debut of Spider-Man: No Way Home, spotlighting all three Spidey Variants in action.

Despite recently debuting on Digital platforms, Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to be a force to be reckoned with at the box office. The Sony Pictures threequel took in $3.2 million this weekend for a $797.5M domestic cume, bringing it very close to another milestone.

Should No Way Home reach $800M, it will become only the third movie ever to do so in the U.S. after Avengers: Endgame ($858M) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936M). It'll never catch the latter without a re-release - which some believe is currently being considered - but could it hope to beat Marvel Studios' mighty Infinity Saga finale?

Another $50M+ seems unlikely at this stage, but we still have a couple of weeks to go until No Way Home hits Blu-ray on April 12, and we'd be foolish to bet against what has proved to be a genuine pandemic-era phenomenon for Sony Pictures.

Speaking of which, Sony has also shared a new Blu-ray promo for the movie, giving us another look at all three Spideys (Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield) in action.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 -
Hard work and talent aside Favreau is the luckies guy on planet Earth. He gets to play with Marvel and Star Wars, which were his faves growing up. Glad he is hip deep in it because he gets it from an 8 year old's perspective as well as an adult.

And he made Elf.

How cool is that.

The Batman's ww BO won't even beat NWH's domestic. No🧢

Spiderman was an infinetly better film. I was on pins and needles watching. It's been a while since a movie made me feel like NWH did

@dracula - This is true, let there be carnage topped all three of those. It was a Sony year. Having said that, it was in MCU year. It definitely was not a DC year. With all the rescheduling, this year will not be as interesting as it would have been. I wanted to compare MCU and DC. A normal 2020 would have consisted of birds of prey, WW84, Black widow, eternals, venom 2, and Morbius. Too bad we cannot see what that result would have been. Two movies each! Anyway, I’ll reassess this line of thinking at the end of the year.

@dracula - did ok for a Batman movie. Still don't see the big deal.

Pretty sad when Marvel is so far ahead of DC the Batman is being compered obscure first attepmt Marvel heroes. DC has been completely stomped out this gen

@Dope21

Bruh…

NWH is an incredible outlier. It’s bigger than the sequel to The Avengers. It’s bigger than 99% of any movie that ever came out.Not the norm.

Movie was building off of 3 generations of Spider-Man movies and it was a crowd pleaser. If you watched The Batman you’d know it’s an entirely different movie, and not exactly a movie you’d take your kids to see several times.

The Batman is going to finish around 800 mil. Which is pretty great for 3 hour movie with hardly any set pieces and a pretty dark tone. For Batman’s like 10th movie, it’s pretty [frick]ing great.

Like you can’t call this a failure when PLENTY of MCU movies including 2 that came out last year will have made less than it.

Nice to see a studio shepherd their marquee character to this level of success.

I'm less impressed by the total than I am the longevity. For comparison's sake Endgame's Week 15 was somewhere around 950k.
