Apparently, Sony were planning to use the CLASSIC version of the Symbiote Spider-Man for Spider-Man 3 using latex and removing the webbing and adding the huge Spider-Man logo. Unfortunately, they ditched the outfit, because the producers felt that the suit "looks like a porno". I am NOT kidding around.

Also, there is a picture of Venom for which features no webbing on his suit and looks more like the source material.

In retrospective they more then likely avoid ruining the franchise ala Schumacher Bat-nipples anyone.Imagine what the jokes would have been with latex costume Spider-man.
