The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the latest in a long line of comic book movies to divide fans, with CBM's comment sections over the past few weeks being a clear indication that the sequel is just one of those releases which is either loved or hated (unlike a certain Star Spangled Avenger). So, after more than 14 days in a number of overseas locations, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 finally reached North America (and China) this weekend and debuted to around $92 million.

What did you think of the movie? Well, here's you chance to rate it, and if you have submitted a review here on CBM, feel free to share the link below. You can find my 2* verdict by clicking here.

Could have been better, but I loved it. Anyone able to read the various names in the 'Special Projects' folder when Harry was looking for Max?

I walked out feeling very meh about it, but as time went on, I've gotten more and more bitter.

I'm nearly Spider-Man 3 level of disgust with it.

I didn't expect to, but I enjoyed it. It felt like reading a Spider-Man comic book. Not sure if that's good or bad, but it made the wacky parts make sense.

You mean, "words of a happy and incredibly relieved to be proven right individual", right?

I don't seem to get what everyone's problem is with this movie. Of course it Definitley had some issues, but it was a major improvement from TASM 1 and is better than Spiderman 3 imo....but to say that this movie was COMPLETE garbage is kinda.... Idk stretching things a bit but that's just me. I really liked this movie

@Pasto Tim Blake Nelson is the only actor confirmed. The rest is speculative.

Well... watchable in the sense that watching it one more time wouldn't be unbearable torture. So basically, one small step above awful.

5, maybee a 5.5 out of 10 for me. And that's being very generous, too. The film got tiny moments absolutely perfect (basically, any scene where Spidey interacted with that kid, so...all 2 of those scenes), but man, do these filmmakers just simply not understand what the character of Spider-Man is about.

Terrible villains, an overload of subplots, jarring tones, piss-poor script and story...this franchise is a train wreck, and it looks even worse when compared to Sam Raimi's trilogy.

And in all honesty I think that This movie has really nailed some pretty key iconic points/elements/moments To Spiderman (Stripped from the comics). Even more than anything that was done in all of Rami' films imo. Also when TASM came out people were saying how ""Spiderman Ian suppose to be like batman, dark gritty ect.."" Once they change the tone to what Spider-mans world is suppose to have, they complain that it's too cheesy. I'll admit They went overboard with Electro in SOME parts of the movie making him seem like a joke, but the rest of the movie was fine. As for Rhino... What did you expect from that character.....

What's this recent trend now with seeing the essence of Superhero characters being ruined. Part of Spider-Man's core was ruined with the parent revelation in this film.
Klone
Klone - 5/4/2014, 2:18 PM
Hey, Sony. This is what you get when you hire the Transformers 2 and Star Trek: Into Darkness writers. Widespread hatred and the chances of your Cinematic Universe being ruined.

So, did see it yet, but I have no plans on going to the theater for this.

Now, to the more important point.

Cap kicked Spidey's ASS!!!!!

Go, Cap.

It really says something that a 2nd tier character is able to beat a first tier character like this. That's a big, freaking deal!! Marvel studios is getting it right (Iron Man 3, notwithstanding).

Iron Man, Cap, Thor...they're becoming 1st tier characters because the studio is doing a good job. Spiderman is the flagship character of Marvel. He's the only one they have close to Batman or Superman. He had a May release and still couldn't beat Cap's April release. Spin it how you like, but he should have beat Cap by 20 million or more.

How the [frick] can you compare this to batman and robin....something like that prove me that some people are just haters...I loved it It wasn't perfect but it was a good movie.....
Ps : like I said before if you can do better get out from your mom basement and make a movie ...peace
