UPDATE #2: SUICIDE SQUAD Reshoots Underway In LA
Apparently those rumors of Suicide Squad reshoots were correct as filming is underway in Los Angeles. Do you think Warner Bros. should inject more humor into the film or trust Ayer's original vision?
Last week, Birth.Movies.Death reported that Suicide Squad was undergoing reshoots to inject more comedy and lighter moments into the film. The site formerly known as Badass Digest further reported that the reshoots were in direct response to WB investor fears stemming from the box office under-performance of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The"knee-jerkiness" undertones of the report led many to assume a cautious amount of skepticism but it looks as if this one might be true after all. The most recent trailer for Suicide Squad caused many to list the film as their most anticipated movie of 2016, however, BMD's report stated that the tone of the trailer didn't necessarily match the overall tone of what director David Ayer was delivering.
The movie hits theaters on August 05, 2016, a mere 4 months away. Hopefully, the reshoots don't cause a delay. In a few additional tweets, tech consultant Brett Schulte added that reshoots were to last 3 weeks, with 2 days on location and the rest at a sound stage.
Check out the awesome imagery below and let me know in the comment section if you think more humor is needed.
UPDATE:
UPDATE #2: Actor Jai Courtney says the Suicide Squad reshoots are to inject more action into the film. "I wouldn't say we're going back to make it funnier. There's some additional action stuff we've been doing which is pretty dope...Don't believe everything you read. " There's three possibilities here - 1.) Jai Courtney is performing spin control duty for WB and they're actually adding humor, 2.) the reshoots are truly just for more action sequences or 3.) the truth is somewhere in the middle and the reshoots are adding more levity AND action. Which do you believe?
