Looks like being buff and ripped is just part of the Kryptonian way.

Upon the first images of Zod and Superman, I like many just assumed there was a lot of padding added to the new Krypton garb. But it seems like everyone is on the workout train for Superman: MOS.

Here is Michael Shannon speaking to Total Film.

“I've definitely never put this much effort into fitness for a part. I've never even considered it part of my job. It's not even a cosmetic thing, like I need to have a six pack[...] It's pretty intimidating to say, 'I'm a General'. They're all just very fit. I don't even know what it's like to feel like a private.”

They also had a small bit about Shannon’s fear of flying.

I think, 'What the hell is going on? This is impossible! I'm in this giant piece of metal, 40,000 feet in the sky!' And then there's a little turbulence, and then my heart goes up in my throat and I feel like I'm going to die!
