MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN Producer Discusses a Potential Batman Role Moving Forward

With My Advenures with Superman currently in production for a second season, fans can't help but think Batman could appear sometime soon in the series

My Adventures with Superman did a superb job of diving into, and flourishing several plot points and storylines the series had introduced: Clark Kent's Kryptonian origin, Clark and Lois Lane's relationship, the trinity of Lois, Clark, and Jimmy Olsen making it as established reporters working for the Daily Planet, and so much more.

While the series was centered around Superman and friends, that does not mean we still did not pick out any cool Easter Egg teases placed throughout season - which could potentially lead to new and exciting storylines moving forward in Season 2.

Vicki Vale - a reporter who works for the Gotham Gazette, was introduced in the episode Zero Day Part 1 to write a piece about Superman, with Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane tagging along as her apprentices.

Of course when the fan's heard "Gotham", expectations were surely raised toward a potential cameo - maybe even a mention of the Caped Crusader.

My Adventures with Superman Producer - Josephine Campbell, was asked in a recent interview on the Superman YouTube Channel (full Interview here), to touch base on this reference, and if there are currently any plans to include Batman in Season 2.

"Now, as soon as the word or the title, 'Gotham Gazette,' got thrown up, fans online jump straight to, ‘Batman, Batman, Batman.’ As a Superman fan, I’ve got nothing against Batman, but as a Superman fan, please tell me we’re going to be concentrating on Superman in Season 2…"

Campbell: "Oh yeah."

SH: "… Not going down that road of bringing in Batman and necessarily other characters along the line?"

Campbell: "I mean, this is a Superman show. We have brought in some other characters, like you said, Vicki’s from Gotham, there’s some mentions of Gotham. But, for us, the whole point of this is, it’s about Superman. It’s about Lois, and Jimmy, and the focus is always going to be on them. We love Superman so much. I’m excited to see [Batman:] Caped Crusader when that comes out. Definitely, there’s still going to be some more mentions of Gotham, so keep an eye out. But, at the end of the day, Superman is our hero. Superman and Clark are who we love the most. And it’s who we’ve spent a couple of years writing now, so it’s what we love."

Would you want to see Batman in My Adventures with Superman Season 2?

Clark Kent builds his secret Superman identity and embraces his role as the hero of Metropolis, while sharing adventures and falling in love with Lois, a journalist, who also takes Jimmy Olsen under her wing.

My Adventures with Superman is an American animated superhero television series based on the DC Comics character Superman. The series is developed by Jake Wyatt, and produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment with animation outsourced to Studio Mir in South Korea. The series premiered on Adult Swim on July 7, 2023, with each episode releasing on Max shortly after broadcast. A second season is currently in production.

I can't wait to finally have a Batman and Superman on-screen together again, since the BvS/JL aren't just World's Finest in my opinion. Would be fun to see Batman show up in S&L or My Adventures.

Haven’t seen this yet but I’ll get around to it.

I’m on the side of having less crossovers. Maybe if this show goes deep into later seasons they can bring in other DC characters, but give it a bit to build up its core cast before making it too big.

With the comic book explosion on screen and tv, I am definitely now more akin to the occasional name drop here and there leading to a really thought out team up. Let the characters develop their voice in their own series/film first before just dropping them right in.

Have you met DC?

Is she insinuating that Batman: The Caped Crusader and My Adventures With Superman are the same continuity?

Wouldn't mind seeing how they handle Batman since they altered some parts of the Superman backstory with this one.

I don't mind him showing up every now and again but ultimately it would be great if Batman and other heroes got their own show. Basically follow the format of BTAS, Superman TAS, and JL/JLU

I personally have no problem with Batman showing up for an episode, but I'd prefer it just be Bruce Wayne instead and Clark interviewing him or something. Then at the end Bruce does a wink and says take care Superman.
