Every Superman Fan Should Read This Even if They Hate Smallville!

Absolute Justice will most certainly be the biggest thing ever on TheCW and in the DC world since the last Batman movie. Absolute Justice will have the number 1 ratings for that week and Smallville will have more viewers than they ever had.

All you Smallville haters put this in your head if you’re stupid enough to miss Absolute Justice: it will be the newest Superman movie! Sure it’s not on the big screen but it will most certainly be better than Superman returns making it the best live action Superman since reeve's was Superman.

Smallville is going to be first in a lot of things once this movie airs on CW I'm pretty sure that most of the Society members have never acted in real life. Smallville taken near all promotional gimmicks out of the budget for this movie that is why no one’s seen any NEW photos other than screen shots this season.

Every DC Fanboy and girl are coming out of the woodworks of their mothers basement to see this Record-Breaking movie Friday night. I haven’t seen my girl in over four months and I’m really debating whether to stay home Friday night to see Absolute justice or to watch it Saturday morning to see it instead I think I actually might be getting an ulcer from this dilemma.

Either way I will see it I’ve been a loyal fan since season 3 and I’ve seen every episode so many that I can’t even remember some of them and some important parts but I try to watch every episode each year that takes little over a week to see every episode been its been so long but I’ve stayed loyal to Smallville and haven’t missed a episode yet but now Smallville deserves every superman fan there is out there to watch this movie Friday. Because like said it just might be the last decent live action Superman movie to come out for awhile so you better take avantage ot it.

I've got a question: I don't read much on JSA, but I heard somewhere that Hawkman was Dr. Fate's father at some point. Is that true?

lol
James: You've sold me. I like how you were so frantically excited that you're last few sentences were super long run-on sentences. I was planning on skipping this, but now I think I'll see it. Peace of advice though: pick your kid over Superman--I'm not sure how much you were over-dramatizing there, but seriously, you're roll as a father is one of the most important rolls of anyone in the world.

Well, I was going to watch it, until you told me I "must". Also, and this is veh-heh-hery important...don't be afraid to toss in a few more periods and commas...it makes things so much easier to read.

i've been following Smallville sporatically for the past five years.
that is until the Doomsday arc. crappy though it was, that season revitalized Smallville for me.
and seeing as how every episode this season has been a home rune imo, i have EXTREME confidence that Absolute Justice will be absolutley astounding.
yes.....
pun intended.

Really, is this an article or just a long winded comment? Along with Contrast's suggestions, throw in a couple of paragraphs.

Dude, I will most likely watch this movie but it will not be #1 for the week. CW doesn't even break top 20 usually. Oh yeah, there's this little show this Sunday (that is the end of the week for ratings) called the Super Bowl that just might edge it out.

A smallville tv movie jam packed with superheroes isn't enough to pull me in. It's still smallville. It's still a continuation of a show where Clark Kent is working in metropolis, and still is not portraying his geeky image along with his glasses. It's still a continuation of a show where key elements of the superman mythos are left out or written out in the wrong ways. Adding extra superheroes isn't gonna work for me anymore. At best, I'll watch the episode online

@Bman- You said it best.

@James- RECORD THE SHOW AND GO GET SOME! 4 Months and you're putting it on hold? WTF? Look...I hate Smallville and I WILL NOT be watching this episode and I think you just upped your expectations so high that you will be quite disappointed come Saturday morning.

I understand if people don't like Smallville but what kind of comic fan doesn't want to see a two hour movie written by Geoff Johns?

I'm not sure how well this would do, but I agree that everyone shoould watch it. It won't be perfect. It may be cheesy. However, a lot of effort has gone into making this episode. For you people who hate Smallville and criticize the hoodi superhero costumes, they're not doing that this time. They spent time making costume that were faithful to the characters.(on a CW TV show budget! hard to do!) Geoff Johns wrote this. My point is that this episode is made for the fans. It's going to be one of the best of the series. Watching it shows that you appreciate them doing this sort of thing. It sends the message that we want more. It could help the future of Smallville (both in terms of getting season 10 and having more episodes like this) and the future of comicbook based TV shows in general. Do you want a Justice League spin-off? Do you want to see your favorite characters faithfully adapted on the small screen? Watching this episode is your chance to send a message.

I hate to say it but MOST DC characters and costumes are really, really lame. The idea of staying faithful to the way a DC character looks in the comic is a huge mistake. Smallville has the look that DC had back in the 80s which is hella lame. Smallville needs to burn and die so something much better can rise from the ashes.

It's the same as finding a roach in your happy meal and still eating it just because it's there.

Hater out.

@Betty: I've been thinking the exact same thing for a long time and wondered, "why has no one ever mentioned the corny-cartoonish costumes and mythos of DC?" That's part of the reason I've never gotten into DC. Hopefully with Earth 1 coming out this Summer, a person like me can be eased into loving and appreciating the DC universe outside of Supes and Batman.
BIGBMH
BIGBMH - 2/2/2010, 10:46 AM
Well, I don't read DC much either, but for the people who do, I think they appreciate a faithful adaptation. When they do costumes that aren't like the originals (Justice League, Legion) they get crap for it. When they try to make costumes that look like the originals, they get crap for that too. I think people are way too critical of this show. IT's not perfect by any stretch. Nor was Lois and Clark, Superboy, or Adventures of Superman. However, this show will undoubtedly influence whatever comes after it.
CBK
CBK - 2/2/2010, 5:29 PM
I will most definitely be tuning in, and I can tell you this much, it will be a huge step in bringing the best characters in the genre (the DC ones) to larger mediums.

@betty .....huh? What about a 2 second glimpse of GL's ring is so gay?

everything on the CW just looks way too cheesey for me. i'll pass on this one. it's not even real cannon so it's not like it's a must-see event.

now if you got me bruce wayne, hal jordan and put Tom in the red and blue suit - i'd be there with bells on. but clark kent pre-superman interacting with dr fate? hawkman in front of a green screen? where's richard donnor when you need him? no thanks.
