Superman´s Logo Evolution from 1938´s Action Comics #1 to 2013´s Man Of Steel

The guys over HalloweenCostumes.com put together a very interesting collection of the different “S” shields that The Last Son of Krypton has sported in 75 years of history, both in Comics and Live action incarnations. Check them out!

This Friday , June 14 sees the premiere of Zack Snyder´s take (and reboot) on Superman in Man of Steel.

And if all those TV spots and trailers weren´t enough to rise the anticipation for this movie, now the people from HalloweenCostumes.com set a great inphography with the Evolution that the DC Comics flag character´s Logo has changed throughout 75 years.

It is divided in two parts: The changes in the Comic Books and in what they call “Popular Culture”, which is no other thing than Superman in TV and Film.

As a bonus, I would like to include the Man of Steel´s logo version with the title in Spanish, just as it is being promoted by WB here in Mexico. Pretty cool right? ;-)

Nice find. It's funny that everyone knows what it looks like, yet there are so many versions of it.

It's amazing how it's changed yet still remains 'iconic'.

Who ever designed the 1940 one laid the groundwork for the rest.

Nice! I've thought for a while the MoS logo deviated quite a bit from the source, but the 1941 shield looks exactly like the movie version. Interesting find!

@staypuffed: yeah they kind of gave the MoS logo a retro though alien look to it.

I read somewhere that the Coca Cola Logo was first and Supes "S" was second as to the most instantly recognizable images wordwide.

But i think Snyder said las week that Supes was second but the first place is the Christian Cross
