So now that the cast for the new superman film is starting to be filled let me ask you fans about which suit you would like to see i have come up with a small selection of comic book and movie superman suits that i think might work.

#1 The classic Suit - hey they always say dont mess with the classic

#2 The superman flyby suit - i have always been a fan of this its got a nice look and remains faithful. besides the trunks but makes up for its unique emblem.

#3 The superman Earth one suit - this is by far my favorite besides the original. i like it because its the same suit but with some minor changes in color and design

#4 The new Dc comic reboot suit - personally i dont like anything about this suit. i think its just boring all around, take away the trunks and all you got is a blue jumpsuit

#5 The superman Returns suit - its a nice suit but a little dull and just never looked comfortable.

Those are the suits, and my opinions hope you will comment back and ad some of your fav suits too. thnx for reading and commenting

If anyone can make the classic suit look modern and amazing it's Snyder.
But like you, I've always loved the 2nd suit in your list, it looks phenomenal.
I'll be happy if I can look at the suit when Cavill wears it and still say "That is f**king Superman"

I also think "the thinner the better"
Routh look liked he was covered in 3inch rubber.
If they have armour of some sort then I hope it's kind of in the same ballpark as Bale's Batman so it still looks sleak.
But primarily I want something to show off and accentuate his muscle definition.

The flyby suit, Earth One, or classic suit with modern material. Or they could use the "Ultimate Superman" costume with the red, blue, and black, but the problem is it doesnt resemble the classic suit.

anything other than the Returns suit. I could go with the classic, new, or a variation of both.

I do really love #2 suit. Just without the blue collar.

I really like the Earth One suit only if they accentuate the muscles like that and keep the darker, faded blue.

Earth one all the way!

Without that six back body it will look most bad ass and realistic.

#2 Flyby. Plus I've always wanted to see the cape retract. Correct me if I'm wrong, the cape is for show unlike Batman who needs it.

Here's the thing... 1, 3 & 5 are all the same suit.

Here's the other thing... it doesn't matter how a costume looks in a drawing. That has no indication of how it looks on on actor in live action cinema, on his particular body. You can put the actor's head on someone else's body, that's not what they will look like either.

If the film makers literally follow the suit design in the drawn form it won't work. It has to work on film, and for today - and no costume is immune from being outdated. Superman is iconic even if the costume is updated.

To get a bit specific, I'm glad to see the trunks go, and I grew up with Reeve's Superman, which I will always love.

I am also not sure what purpose a collar would serve, aesthetically or functionally. Putting on a turtleneck to save people seems funny to me.

I'm sure that whatever they decide to use will look great. Henry Cavill said it looked badass.

Earth one would be my pick but they'll probably go with the dc reboot suit.

This is the Ultimate Suit that @soda9 mentioned

I Like the second one, but think the collar should be what holds the cape on, so it stays, but is easily removable for him to absorb solar radiation, and he can line his cape with lead to shield him from kryptonite. Other than that, what is the point to having a cape? Unless it was like the baby blanket his parents wrapped him in when they sent him in the spaceship.

@wolverinesfury and who is this someone? If that's true, it's fine with me, I love the kingdom come shield.

Earth One Suit. Slim design. No idea for extra padding or rubber. He is the Man of Steel. He is his own armor. It needs to accentuate the physique, like some embodiment of strength. However it can be argued that if it were Kryptonian garb then armor it up ala Thor or Supe FlyBy

I'm with Froggy on this one. I really like the relaunch suit and hope they use it in the film.

Either classic or Earth One! The reboot suit for fall has too much blue.
