It looks like that 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is rumored to helm The Crow reboot for Relativity Media. After Stephen Norrington left the project back in October the only thing we heard is that Mark Wahlberg was offered the lead role in the film. And now here are some updates on the project.

From Bloody-Disgusting:

These days everyone is fighting to stay ahead of the game, which is why you see more and more 'in talks' stories. We'll ignite some flames this morning as Hollywood offices are abuzz (and we were tipped off) that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, director of 28 Weeks Later and the forthcoming Intruders, is taking meetings on Relativity's remake of The Crow. Just to be clear: he's taking meetings, and NOT signed nor attached. He is also attached to Universal Pictures' adaptation of Bioshock, but recent press indicates that it is in horrible development hell.

Report continues on saying that Mark Wahlberg was indeed offered the role and that studio would like him for the lead. But other than that, nothing is confirmed. Stay tuned for the updates!

NO Wahlberg for this.....PLEASE. I hope it follows the book instead of trying to redo the film. The OG is a classic...

LEAVE THIS ALONE! If they are making this movie based shot for shot and line for line on the comic, cool. But if they are trying to remake the first movie. This is a terrible thing.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a faithful adaption of the original book (that is, a Zack Snyder or Robert Rodreguez level of faithfulness to the source material). That's the only way I'm gonna buy it. The original, while I liked it, tried to make the story bigger and cooler and in doing so, lost some of what made the book intimate & great.

JESUS CHRIST! Mark Wahlberg as Eric Draven?! NO MOTHER[frick]ING WAY!!

Charlie Hunnam, Joseph Gordon Levitt or Garrett Hedlund all the way if anybody!

Depp or Leto would be cool choice too.

why reboot? the crow is open-ended from what I know of the comic's mythology... just write a new story concerning a DIFFERENT crow on another revenge-filled rampage, problem solved. monkey see, monkey do, monkey gets his brains blown out.

JVIII@ Cave rules!:) Great musician and great writer.
Yeah everyone would compare his performance to Ledger´s and i think that wouldnt be a good think.
Hope he plays a different character in new Batman film and im sure he will.
Alberto Falcone or Black Mask or hybrid between those characters would be good choice?

They can do what they want but , after the first one there is no need for another, that moview isnt dated or in need of a reboot and is still a great adaption. if they want to do another Crow movie thats fine, the others had nothing to do with the original and so can this one as long as they dont use Eric Draven all is good

This is pretty cool he is a well b balanced director and I think this would work well. My choices for the Crow are Jared Leto, Joseph Gordon Levitt, or Cillian Murphy.

If the idea of rebooting The Crow as known as Brandon Lee? Well it shouldnt be done. We want to revist the crow, not the Brandon Lee, Crow.

Brandon Lee, was a great actor and a great choice for the Crow, but it shouldnt be a reboot. It should be another movie, continuing the series of a new guy-or-girl; as the Crow.

Hlollywood and all its people, i've lost all my paintenst. Reboots dont need to be done. If they were't i would'nt be here and no one would be complaining. So don't do Reboot of Crow!

Every film exec who had a hand in ANYTHING that happened with this franchise after the first one should be dragged through the streets by their tiny little balls and pelted with dung. Brandon Lee is and will always be Eric Dravin. R.I.P.

Cillian Murphy would be a good crow. His voice kind of reminds me of Brandon Lee's and he has a unique look.

axelbratoski - I have always thought that Heath Ledger would have made a fantastic Crow but like Brandon Lee he was taken from us way too early.
