New Report Claims To Reveal FLASHPOINT's Big Bad, Supporting Cast, Shooting Start Date, And More
Ready to learn more about what's to come in Flashpoint? A new report reveals the movie's lead villain (it's definitely not who you're expecting), the supporting cast, and when it will start shooting.
Big changes are currently taking place behind the scenes of the DC Films Universe but it appears as if Flashpoint is finally starting to come together despite numerous false starts. Spider-Man: Homecoming writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein were hired to direct the movie last month and now a new report reveals that the hope is for it to start shooting in London in the second half of this year.
Flaspoint is expected to have a budget of over $100 million and plenty of time is being left for VFX work as there will be an awful lot of it due to the Scarlet Speedster's unique abilities. There are also plans for additional filming to take place in the US, while Warner Bros. is looking to hire Ghost in the Shell cinematographer Jess Hall to be Flashpoint's director of photography (the visuals in that were impressive, so it's not a bad hire). So, what exactly should we expect from the plot of the movie?
Well, details on that are scarce but That Hashtag Show says that Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Billy Crudup (Henry Allen), and Iris West (Kierset Clemons) are all expected to appear despite the fact that the latter was cut from Justice League. A number of roles need to be filled, including Officer Fred Chyre, a Keystone City cop working with Barry Allen to investigate the death of Jonathan Chambers/Johnny Quick. Detective Jered Morillo is also set to appear, as are Caitlin Snow, Captain Cold, and Heatwave.
Here's the kicker, though; Dr. Arthur Light will reportedly serve as Flashpoint's big bad, an unexpected choice and probably not who most of us expected. Don't fret too much because it's said that, "the film would include some references or potential flashbacks to Barry's accident, an accident we're told that will include Eobard Thawne in an interesting way." It wouldn't be the same without Reverse-Flash and it seems this is going to be very much a Flash movie rather than a Justice League one.
