Among the subjects discussed in the interview, was whether or not he felt there were characteristic differences between the Phantom and his costume-less alter ego, Kit Walker (who has actually spent part of life thinking of himself as Chris Moore).

"What I found is that once the costume went on, I was The Phantom and Kit had to check his doubts and his insecurities and fears at the door," muses Carnes. "Like any human being, Kit has doubts and insecurities and fears, whether it relates to fear of being uprooted from the life he knew and losing every single semblance of that life, including his friends and his girlfriend; or whether it be fear for his own safety and life. Once the Phantom costume is on, it became all about action. It’s instinct. It’s intuition. There’s no time for anything else, and I think in a way, that was a cool realization for me, because in life, as a person, I think when I’m functioning at my best, and at my greatest potential, it’s the times when I am relying on my intuition and my instinct and I’m really present in the moment. As opposed to entertaining any doubts or fears. It’s like three versions of the same guy, but as The Phantom he gets to be that most functional part."

This guys seems fine for the role. Its just that they've dressed him up like a Power Ranger reject, where the problem lies.

You cannot have skinny guys wearing the phantom or the superman suit. its got to be a muscular guy. That is the only way it will work. Skinny guys just look gay in these suits.

The only complaint I have is that in the first few minutes the actors (or at least the voice over actors) who play young Kit and his mum cannot act at all. Their lines are dull and unconvincing. The direction however is pretty cool, and normally it wouldn't bother me except that it made a poor first impression.

Once the show got going though, I really enjoyed it! True it was a little formulaic but to be fair all superhero origin stories are: Hero discovers his destiny or his powers, cue training montage, leaves before he is apparently ready (a la Skywalker) to rescue someone and ends up doing the job required. I'm not sure how well a series would work but the 2 2hr episodes I watched were well worth it. Maybe if I was a fan of the Phantom I would feel differently but I only know him from the animated Defenders Of The Earth (not a great depiction I'm sure).

Watched this last night and loved it, i thought the suit translated quite well, its not like they ignore the old one it makes an apperance but for the 22nd phantom they adapted something that will stand up aganist modern age villans with SMG's and hand grenades. The photos dont do it justice, it looks way cooler in action kinda like the revamped bat suit in Dark knight...from an entertainment perspective this was really enjoyable..
