Joe Quesada Shares His Thoughts On Thor; Teases Captain America And The Avengers!

Marvel's Chief Creative Officer has shared his thoughts on an early cut of Thor and drops a few teases about some new Captain America and Avengers stuff he was lucky enough to see...

Here's what the former Marvel Comics E-i-C had to say via his Twitter account (@JoeQuesada) just a few moments ago. While you'd hardly expect him to say anything bad about the movie, Quesada does bring up a lot of interesting points and teases that will surely continue to build anticipation for the downright awesome looking movie.

After 2 weeks on the road, I'm finally ready to break my silence. I have been to Asgard, I have walked the rainbow bridge & it was AMAZING!

I don't want to jinx it, but this is going to be the first super hero movie with tons of appeal for gals not into the genre.

I will admit, I got a bit teary in a spot or two. Branagh's vision is simply remarkable, Marvel fans will rejoice.

The cast and performances are wonderful and Hemsworth will be a superstar.

Cut I saw wasn't final and I don't say stuff like this lightly, but I can't wait for opening night and to see what you all think.

Also got to see some Cap and Avengers stuff, but my lips are sealed for now... OH GOD IT'S SO HARD TO KEEP A SECRET!!!!!

Okay, okay, listen close. So in Avengers - - oh god - - you're not going to believe this - - but just when you least expect it, out of nowh

Dang this 140 character thing! Ah, got to run, dinner's ready, I'll tell ya later.

Thor is set to be released on May 6, later this year, with Captain America: The First Avenger following soon after on July 22. The Avengers is currently expected to hit cinemas on May 4, 2012!

Okay, to be fair, Joe Q is somewhat required to say nothing but good things as CCO. However, considering how excited I am for these movies I'm more than inclined to believe him.

And @Blackwidow, my thoughts exactly...

Eh, did you really expect Joe to say anything bad about them?

I think out of all the comic book movies coming out this year, I'm looking forward to Captain America the most. With Green Lantern at second, and Thor at third. I loved all three of these characters when I was a little kid, so this should be a good year. I have a feeling I'm going to love all three!

THOR just might be the one. But after the douchebag Kevin Fiege destroyed the HULK casting along with other casting atrocities with Chris Evans as Captain America, this THOR movie seems to be the diamond in the ruff. I never really understood the big deal about Natalie Portman but she isn't too out of place here. Hemsworth looks good in the role and I anticipate good chemestry with them. Odin and Loki are also well cast. I can't wait for this one.

I have to admit that i thought chris Evans was not the best choice for Cap. But the again, i also didn't think Heath ledge was a go od choice for the joker, and i was sooooooooo wrong.

@sexfoodcomics. I've heard the Ledger argument for Chris Evans before. The difference is, when you were scratching your head saying "What the [frick]?" when you heard of Ledgers casting, it was related to an awesome director who obviously focuses on a quality above the average comic movie. Do you honestly think Captain America is being made with the same focus of quality as the Dark Knight? Of course not, we've seen the set photos. It's the standard MARVEL production. Nothing is necessarily wrong with that, but we know Evans won't be getting any Oscar nods. The casting in general was sad. Channing Tatum, some CW show dudes, then out of nowhere (there were always going to cast Evans), Chris Evans. So what I'm saying is; Ledgers case is super different. Maybe if it was Channing Tatum. He's a terrible choice, but if he pulled what Ledger pulled, he would be the greatest Cap of all times.

NeoBaggins@ You can't criticise the casting of Captain America because of the films tone and it's worthiness. Thats not fair.

It's not Evans fault that the role may not be considered for an oscar simply because of the quality of the production. He will be given a script and a narrative and he will get to work.

I have seen a lot of Evans and in every role he has played he has been charasmatic and talented. The range of roles has also impressed me immensely. For me he was the steel and core of Sunshine in which he was on screen with Cillian Murphy's heart and soul. The rest of that cast were also fantastic and he really performed.

In terms of talent and leading a film I think he will be a great choice. In fact, looking at all the cast and crew in general I have a pretty optimistic outlook for this movie.
