Future TRANSFORMERS Movie To Have An Unexpected Setting; BUMBLEBEE Time Period Revealed
It's been revealed that an upcoming Transformers movie will have a period setting you need to see to believe, while we also know which era the upcoming Bumblebee spinoff will take place in.
Transformer World has sifted through the latest issue of Empire Magazine for intel on the future of the Transformers franchise and what they've found is very, very interesting. For starters, it sounds like the upcoming Bumblebee spinoff is going to be aimed at a younger audience, news which probably shouldn't come as a surprise considering the fact the character has often been used for comedic effect.
They also reveal that Bumblebee will be set in the 1980s, making it a prequel of sorts to the Michael Bay movies. That's an era it's easy to imagine the character fitting into and it means we'll get to see a lot of very cool vehicles from that decade. It's said that we'll see fewer Autobots and Decepticons too.
Here's where things get really weird, though. After mentioning that the animated Transformers movie is going to be set millions of years in the past on Cybertron, the magazine reportedly reveals that one upcoming movie in the works has a setting in Ancient Rome! Does that mean we'll see Transformers as wooden horse and carts?! Who knows, but that certainly sounds like a unique direction to take things.
Then again, the thought of Autobots vs. Decepticons in a gladiatorial arena does sound awesome...
