Looks like The Walking Dead TV series is on its way as they have recently casted Shane.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Jon Bernthal will be playing Rick's ex-police partner Shane. Bernthal is known for his roles in "The Ghost Writer", "Eastwick", and for playing Al Capone in "Night at the Museum".

AMC recently ordered a pilot for the much anticipated "The Walking Dead" TV series. The Walking Dead, of course, is a popular comic series written by Robert Kirkman about survival after a zombie holocaust ravages the world.

@ flames

the comics are some of the most consistently good comics out right now. since the first issue, its just ALWAYS good. and you never know who is going to die next. it doesn't matter if its a main character or not, NO ONE IS SAFE!

awesome series...

Can't wait for this series. I still want Flash Forward to end, so Joseph Fiennes can play Rick Grimes.

yeah man! i couldn't believe that one arc when the jail gets invaded by the Governor!!!!

only Robert Kirkman would kill off almost his entire cast of characters, lol

CDB - Couldn't agree with you more. This is by far, the best read out there. Period!!! Not since Preacher or Y-The Last Man have I been this much into a comic book. My only concern is that the source material is so good, there is no way the TV series will came close to being as good as the book. Not to mention that AMC is not HBO, therefore they will edit the SHIT out of those scenes. I really wish this was being done with an R rating, but beggars can't be choosers.

p.s. Dude!!! I almost pissed myself when you called InterestingJohn "that guy"! LMFAO!!!! F#cking Classic ...

@ mclovin

i don't know man, on AMC they throw the shit word around quite a bit. and they DO show a good amount of gore. they'll definately edit all the [frick]s out, but i can live with that. but your'e right, i would have felt better if it was on HBO.

and yeah, i can't stand when people correct little grammar mistakes. like he's never misspelled anything, and his grammar is always perfect...right. i tried to change it, but couldn't, so oh well, y'know? i'm at work, so i kinda rushed this article, lol.

Good choice. Thought he was great as Sgt. Rodriguez in The Pacific. Glad to see The Walking Dead taking shape, I love the comic.

@ superdog

thats funny, because i thought the same thing. most of the characters are important, but a lot of them don't last very long, lol. there's constantly new people coming and going in this series. i'm just lucky my two favorites have lasted as long as they have.

What? There are comic fans on this site that have not read the Walking Dead? I urge (yes URGE!) everyone and anyone who has not read this book, to stop whatever you are doing (yes, even if it includes taking grandma's meds to her house) and go directly to your nearest comic shop and pick all (YES EVERY SINGLE ONE) of the trades for this book. You may be asking yourself: Self ... can this book really be as good as this deuche says it is? YES! IT IS THAT GOD DAMN GOOD. Now stop reading this and go get the books. Yes, right now.

p.s. you're welcome

p.p.s. CBD, just curious who are your favorites?

@ mclovin

haha!! i agree, it should be mandatory that EVERYONE read this series...hell, they should make you read it in school, lol.

and my favorites are Andrea and Michonne. in that order, lol. Andrea is just an awesome character. and michonne kicks ass, you can't read this series and NOT like her, y'know?? but in all honesty, this is one of those series' where you care about MOST of the characters. there's very few of them that i WANTED to get offed...except rick's life Lori...my god i hated her.

unfortunately i've only read up to volume 10, so Andrea could have died by now, although i hope not...

and i just posted this in Dogs' article, but since there are so few Walking Dead fans here, its cool to have someone to talk to about it! anyway, i know the series is known for no one being safe, but do you think Kirkman will ever kill Rick?? i wouldn't think so, but at the same time, i can see him killing off rick and letting his son take the spotlight sometime in the future. what do you think??
