Will THE WALKING DEAD Recast Maggie? Lauren Cohan Signs Up For A New ABC Pilot

It was previously reported that Lauren Cohan's Walking Dead is up after season 8 and that she was considering leaving the show after learning Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln earned significantly more.

The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan appears set to carry out threats to leave her co-starring role on the AMC zombie drama.  The actress was very unhappy to learn that Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus had significantly higher salaries and request comparable pay during her season 9 contract negotiations with the network.  It seems she must have been unsatisfied with what AMC offered as Cohan has now booked a role on an ABC drama pilot opposite Scott Foley.

Cohan has been negotiating with AMC for months and news of her potential exit have circulated for weeks but this latest development is a signal that Cohan's willing to do more than just talk.  Variety reports that Cohan could possible still occur on a semi-regular basis on The Walking Dead if her ABC pilot receives a series order, however, it's also possible that she simple exits the show.

Should that happen, do you think AMC will write her character off or recast the role.  Though Maggie plays an important role in the ongoing Robert Kirkman comic, the show has shown a willingness in the past to stray from the source material.

Stay tuned for further updates.

The only hope for this show is losing Gimple. Trash people? Losing Carl? Ruining Eugene? Rick and Michonne? That is some shark jumping shit right there.

@DoctorCranium - give it a chance in 8b. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with a couple of these that you disapprove of.

@DoctorCranium - I stopped watch right before Negan came in. I was bored. It just became a series of them finding a safe place and it not turning out to be what it seemed and them running away to the next place for almost the exact same thing to happen for almost the exact same reasons.

I actually like Fear the Walking Dead more. It is at least a bit more interesting as far as the places they go and the reasons they stay and leave. It's not a great show, but I find it fun.

Also, the seasons are much shorted so there are less shitty episodes. Plus, they killed of the one really annoying character fairly early on!

If she hadn't already played Martha Wayne she would make a great Black Canary for either the Birds Of Prey movie or a Green Arrow movie

The reason this show is profitable is because they dont really spend that much money per episode. Compared to mad men their only expenses are really the cast and crew so its really stupid that they wont try to please the stars of their most succesful show with a little raise

I still remember them saying that when Sonequa Martin got the lead in Star Trek that she would do both shows and look what happend. Kill her offand give her story to Enid, but it's not like it will matter at this rate its got one more season in it.

AMC ruins almost everything they get their hands on. The only show they have that is still great is Better call Saul everything else is terrible. Both the walking dead and preacher have been ruined and BB and Mad Men are over now.

@CurlyBill - Agreed. I miss Mad Men. Really hope AMC can get back to that and BB/Better Call Saul quality.

The show has become "Who's gonna die next?" Its garbage now. It needs to change up its whole style or something. Imagine if it was filmed like a dramatic horror? Would probably revitalize it.

She was cast as the female lead. This show sounds like it could be good.
