A CBS press event was held today in which the network showed up their upcoming slate of summer programming including Under The Dome.  The season two opener will be written by Stephen King whose novel the show is based on. Keep your eyes peeled as the author is also set to cameo in the episode.

Executive producer Nael Baer teased what lies ahead in the second season; “This is about ecological disaster pending — that magnetism has caused many things to happen, ”biblical problems of pestilence and bloody rain, because characters haven’t been the stewards they should be, of protecting the land and each other. What is the message The Dome is trying to teach us?”

The second season is also to feature a new digital only character who can only speak to other characters inside the mysterious dome, Baer explains that it was chosen to “reach out to particularly our young audience and embrace this ‘transmedia’.” further teasing “Maybe someone might possibly get out and someone might get in as well this year,”

UNDER THE DOME is a serialized drama from Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television based on Stephen King's bestselling novel of the same name. It tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town's inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.

Nice. I'm really looking forward to season 2. I'll probably re-watch season 1 later this month.

The first season was kinda a let down, I'll probably check out the first couple of episodes to see if there's any improvement.

ComicFan523 I have a feeling the first episode at least will be great considering Stephen King himself is writing it.
