ARROWVERSE Crossover Character Breakdown May Reveal The Debut Of A New Kryptonian Character

The CW's popular Arrowverse already has a Supergirl and a Superman, but a new character breakdown for this year's crossover event suggests a new Kryptonian will make his debut. More details past the jump.

Between the return of Tyler Hoechlin's Superman and the debut of both Lois Lane and Batwoman (Ruby Rose), this year's Arrowverse crossover may be the biggest one yet, and it may be getting bigger as two new character breakdowns hint at a potentially huge surprise.

The first of these breakdowns may be the most interesting, as it seems to describe a Kryptonian character called Lon-El, a name That Hashtag Show believes is being used to hide the character's real identity. But even if this proves to be just a code name, "
Lon-El is described as a mysterious visitor who is from another planet and is both ambiguous, inscrutable and has the power that is teased as nearly infinite."

Aside from giving us info on the character himself, the breakdown also revealed that the CW is looking for an actor of any ethnicity and notes that they may appear in "post-crossover episodes of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl as well as Legends of Tomorrow."

Besides the mysterious Lon-El there were also details on someone named Dr. Elias Kern. Again, the network may be using this name to cover up the character's true identity, but unlike Lon-El, this character definitely sounds like a villain.

"Described as a psychiatrist with his own mental health problems, Dr. Kern is a brutal sociopath who appears to be starting to lose his grip on reality. This recurring guest star will be present in all three episodes of the crossover."

While fans will have to wait a bit longer to see these characters in action, it sounds the popular Arrowverse will gain some interesting additions when the crossover kicks off on December 9 with a new episode of The Flash.

If the Lois they cast is legit, I'm hoping for a New Superman Show!

@DCFilmJunkie - It would be a great way to spin-off Supergirl and give Hoechlin a chance at a proper Superman show.

IMO, I just don't see them doing that until Cavill's version of Supes is done.

@LORDbuckethead - yeah but they may already be.

Glad that he's busy working but would like to see Tyler Hoechlin get his own Supes series (although I find the cape placement on his costume a tad annoying!)

Maybe this will lead to a "Metropolis" show .. or a Justice League team up mini series

@bigdannymac - A Justice league mini series similar to the Defenders isn't a bad idea. I hope they can have a crisis event to merge the universes. Still seems strange Supergirl's universe is separate from the rest of the Arrowverse

@bigdannymac - i have an idea for that. So it starts off as an origin story for this superman, only by the end theres an appearance from barry in his current flash costume, showing its not a prequel to supergirl and this takes place in the main universe. This superman has to figure out his path based on not only what his parents wanted but also what this other world version of himself has done.

So the description looks to cast any ethnicity so lets put up picks of a character who is black like Val-El is a candidate to get a race swap.

I thought it might be Conner, but maybe not because it could be too soon and we'd need to see Cadmus back in the spotlight again.

Hmm, what if they are drawing some elements from Superman: Last Son and they introduce the little kid that arrived on a big pod called Lor-Zod who went to become the adoptive son of Clark and Lois? It'd explain why we are getting Lois for example in this one. (Lor-Zod later was named Chris Kent)

I guess we'll soon find out.

@NinnesMBC - well remember, there are no kryptonians that we know of in the main universe yet.

@Origame - Earth-1? Yeah there aren't. But we also don't know where the crossover starts or well, where Kate Kane even resides in.

There is a lot to unwrap.

@NinnesMBC - just saying. Big leap to assume theres a cadmus like facility in earth 1 cloning kryptonians.

I'm back, and you'll never guess my crime. "Inciting a flame war" because I spoke out against Wilding. Ironic huh, well Nate reinstated my account, realized the claim was unfounded.

In related news, Lon-el sounds like a codename.

I’m looking forward to the Lois and Jimmy dynamic. His entire thing is growing out of the shadow of these characters but if Lois is anything like Lois she’s not gonna care how big he is, she’s gonna treat him like he’s the same kid she would drag along with her.

Could this be our official Earth-1 Superman, while not being CK, giving us an established Superman (Val-el) from the comics who will not be confused with Supergirl's Superman? And if Batwoman is potentially the Earth-1 Bat, it'd give us major players for the TV Justice League.

Could the Psychiatrist be......

I could see Val Zod being introduced and making his way to Earth-One to become that Earth's Superman.

Dr. Kern is a gender swapped Harley Quinn, Harry. Because everything is better with HQ according to those knobs.

The psychiatrist can be Hugo Strange, or even Dr. Psycho.
