DOOM PATROL Set Photos Give Us Our First Look At Negative Man, Elasti-Girl, Crazy Jane & Robotman

Following the recent casting of Alan Tudyk as Mr. Nobody, a large batch of photos from the set of the live-action Doom Patrol series surfaced online, giving us a great look at a few of the show's character.

Among the actors featured in the collection of images are April Bowlby and Diane Guerrero, who were spotted in costume as Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, respectively.

However, while it's definitely exciting to see these two DC Comics characters, many fans will likely be more interested in the shots of Robotman and Mister Negative, as their costumes look nearly identical to their comic book counterparts.

I wonder if they'll give any of these pilots a theatrical release, Inhumans style.

DC TV/Streaming is much more likely to be on a par with their movie stuff than Marvel's Inhumans was with the MCU.

Right now, I'd say that a Doom Patrol pilot would probably be a vast improvement on the repressably bad Justice League movie.

The difference between a Titans bts photos and DP one. :P
I dig it, not too familiar with these characters, but i reckon they look pretty much like em, Robotman is not easy to adapt on the small screen, but the for rest it shouldn't be a big problem.

The accuracy of Robot Man and Negative Man is much appreciated

Looks good.

...Just don't [frick] it up with terrible lighting, ugly filters, and dumb dialogue, that's all I ask...

@Spock0Clock

I can agree with the filter and a lot of cases dumb dialogue. But lighting? I think visuals and score are something that the DCEU is head and shoulders above Marvel on.

I’ve felt that this should have been a DC movie after the success of Gotg. Hopefully the tv program is not another Inhumans fiasco.

How is this gathering better, bigger actors, more accuracy, and a seemingly bigger production value than Titans???? But I'm certified hyped right now.

@ScarletWarlock - The first few costumes we saw of Titans looked pretty good. I'm still very much on guard about this one.

@ScarletWarlock - That could be a lot of reasons. Maybe the pitch was better! Maybe the early scripts read better than the Titans ones. Or maybe there's just less pressure (and more room for creativity) in playing characters that basically no one has ever heard of, rather than having to play some fairly big names.

I'm a Marvel guy (I also like DC, Nolan's Batman Trilogy is amazing) but I'm really really excited for this show, cool costumes and good actors

I don't think I've ever read any of these guy's stuff, but even without that knowledge this looks aggressively like my type of thing, so hopefully this is nothing like TITANS

Robot man looks like Robot from the Invincible comic... or vice versa, whatever.

I was totally not expecting to see those pictures and even less how accurate they all look like, specially Negative Man and Robotman. Well done Doom Patrol make up deparment.

I think Elastigirl also looks accurate, color-wise at least since the costumes they wore sometimes and in the Teen Titans show was purple-ish. She can always later get a more closer one to the comics.

First time seeing Crazy Jane though so I can't judge.

And it looks like they are basing themselves from Gerard Way and Nick Derington's Doom Patrol according to what one Twitter user said.

I am very curious now how they are going to adapt Mr. Nobody.

And yes, if Doom Patrol are getting this treatment then Titans will as well eventually. But it is gonna be a slow pace burn for at least Starfire, Beast Boy and Raven. Minka Kelly (Dove) did tease while defending Ana Diop that Starfire wouldn't have that look always.

Now let's see how they handle Stargirl in the future based on this.

They look fantastic! Glad they're staying true. I said I wouldn't subscribe to anymore tv apps, but this show and Titans made signing up for DC's app a no-brainer. Now I want to see some sneak peeks at Swamp Thing.

@rabid - Swamp Thing is gonna be the deciding factor on if I get the app. Not so much these days, but as a kid growing up Swampy was my favorite character. Loved the campy movies, the cartoon, the comics and had all the toys and playsets of the swamp and Arcane's laboratory.

Anyone wanna recommend any Doom Patrol runs/stories worth reading. I need to know more about them cause I keep confusing them with The Invisibles series.

@MrCamw1 - My favorite is Grant Morrison's run from the 80s. The New 52 versions are pretty inaccessible to new readers.
