GOTHAM: Jim Gordon Finally Gets His Comic Book Mustache In These New Photos

A new batch of photos from the next episode of Gotham have been released and we see that Jim Gordon finally has his iconic mustache from the Batman comic books. However, there's something of a catch...

Love it or hate it, Gotham continues rolling on at Fox and it appears to moving further and further away from the comic books as it goes. However, fans may be glad to see that Jim Gordon finally has his mustache in this new batch of images from, "A Dark Knight: A Beautiful Darkness." Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will be a permanent addition because he only has it due to a costume party!

Episode thirteen is the midseason premiere of Gotham and while Jerome will be making an appearance, it was recently confirmed that he's not The Joker and the Clown Prince of Crime will appear down the line (but before the season is over). To take a look at what Ben McKenzie looks like with his comic book counterpart's iconic (?) facial hair, all you need to do is click
through the gallery.

Ivy (guest star Peyton List) tracks a secret project on which Wayne Enterprises is working and begins to target anyone that can give her information. Meanwhile, Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan) becomes obsessed with Penguin in Arkham. Also, Gordon begins to second guess his deal with Sofia and an unsettling dream sequence shakes up Bruce in the all-new “A Dark Knight: A Beautiful Darkness” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, March 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The cast of Gotham appears to be enjoying a costume party in Wayne Manor here and their outfits are unique to say the least! Selina Kyle looks strikingly similar to her comic book counterpart while Dr. Lesley Thompson's get up could be a very loose nod to the King Tut character.

Over the past couple of years, Gotham has been playing with imagery which makes the young Bruce Wayne look very much like The Batman (and no, I'm not referring to what was essentially a gimp suit when he suited up for the first time a while back). This is a cool shot but he still looks like a kid!

Well, Poison Ivy sure has grown up fast! She's now played by Peyton List, an actress comic book fans will be familiar with after she appeared in The Flash. It's not a bad bit of casting to be fair but it seems a shame to gloss over the character's childhood and jump to this version of the villain.

Maybe there's something I'm missing but I have no idea why Detective Harvey Bullock is walking around with a chicken here. Regardless, the character remains one of the best parts of Gotham and an argument could be made that his journey has sometimes been more interesting than Jim Gordon's!

Gotham has been just as much The Penguin's show as Bruce Wayne and his transformation into the villain from the comic books has played out in a very interesting way. Here, we see him looking an awful lot like the version from the source material but that's only because it's a costume party!

Young Bruce Wayne is growing up fast but if Gotham is planning on properly introducing the Dark Knight, Fox may want to consider recasting the role. Then again, if Disney's deal goes through to purchase the network, there's a very good chance that the DC Comics adaptation will be wrapped up.

And here it is! Jim Gordon is finally rocking his mustache from the comic books...it's just a shame that it's a fake one for the purposes of this party. Still, it gives us an idea of how the character could one day look and given the way this show has deviated from the comics, we may never actually see it again!

@BlindWedjat - She's been aged by chemicals. Her real age is around 16; a year younger than Bruce.

He should just grow a proper one for a final 5th season. Or maybe he should get the glasses first.

Now this is going to be a fun episode, but im guessing this is a dream, since it seems unlikely that Bruce would throw a costume party, and Bullock with a chicken reminds me of the cheese guy from the Buffy season 4 finale. Plus why would Penguin be there, he is in akham

Love this show, it has only gotten better with each season.
I think it should end soon, it could end this season, since everyone is pretty close to being who they suppose to become. But I would like it to at least get to Season 5, at the most I think it could go on to season 6. I really don't want Gotham to end up like Smallville, we didn't need 10 seasons to tell Superman's origin, and the ending to that show was ok, we didnt even see Clark in the full suit. Plus he had already gotten rid of his biggest enemies before becoming Superman. You also don't need 10 years to tell Batman's origin, the only problem I could see them having is getting a good suit, so since Bruce is still young, maybe instead of ending it with him actually in the suit, end it with a hint at what's to come, like maybe a recreation of this moment

The 5th picture looks weird, Bruce looks smaller than usual, and the hair looks weird and his clothes look baggier, must be a stunt double, or it is a dream, and its some type of mental thing

Very, very solid show, especially if you take it for what it is, which is a show about Gotham. The city looks stunning. The opposite of the CW shows where everything is shot in warehouses, the street in front of the warehouse, and the woods behind the warehouse. Between the bars, the GCPD, the streets, Arkham, the buildings, apartments, Gotham looks amazing.

The storyline, the background plot, is terrible, but the story arcs are really good. Professor Pyg was movie-level of greatness, which is why I really want him or Anarky as a secondary villain in a future Batman movie (where Hush would be the main). Enough of the Riddler, the Joker, Bane and co. Music is also very good, photography is stunning, and some of the actors are unbelievable, if you can hack the Burtonesque "theater feel" of it all.

Only problem for me is Bruce and his bullshit, I just want to smack him in the face, Jim Gordon can't act to save his life and yet he's the main character, and I suppose Alfred calling Bruce "mate" and being such a british cliché is also really annoying.

Apart from that, it really is a great show.

@Asturgis - Dont you think Professor Pig should be used for Nightwing movies, considering he was created for the Dick Grayson/Batman era

@dracula - I thought he was one of the 2 original villains who were created by the "Beware the Batman" animated team? With Anarky? Or was that Magpie? I'm confused.

All that time when Dick took over the cowl and teamed-up with Damian was really good.

@Asturgis - Professor Pig was introduced during the Dick Grayson days, Anarky has been around since I think the 80's, and there have been a few versions of him. Magpie, I have no idea, she may have been in the comics before Beware the Batman, but she was probably a D lister

@dracula - OK, thanks, I really thought Pyg and Anarky were created by Beware the Batman. I remember the team saying something about it. Maybe they just"reinvented" them in some way, I don't know. In any case, Pyg is a great character. Very dark. And Gotham did him justice.

So I actually really like the 1st season, and the parts of the 2nd that I saw but I haven't seen any since. I loved the mafia turf wars, the Riddler's slow-burn development, and the buddy cop aspect with Gordon and Bullock. Not a big fan of Fish Mooney or Barbara Gordon, but, eh.

Is it worth it to keep watching?
