iZOMBIE Pilot Adds ONE TREE HILL Star Robert Buckley

CW veteran Robert Buckley has joined the cast of the network's adaptation of the Chris Robertson and Michael Allred DC/Vertigo comic book, iZombie. He'll play the lead characters former fiancé turned friend.

iZOMBIE Adds Robert Buckley

One Tree Hill actor Robert Buckley is returning to The CW to co-star in the network's iZombie adaptation. Buckely will play, "Major, Liv's former fiancé who is trying to transition back to being her friend despite still being in love with her. He's a former college football player-turned-environmental engineer who is extremely likable."

The actress who'll be playing the lead role of Liv has yet to be announced.

Veronica Mars tv and film creator Rob Thomas penned the pilot script along with Diane Ruggiero. Thomas will also direct the pilot. The announced cast thus far includes Buckley, Malcolm Goodwin, Alexandra Krosney and David Anders. The story centers on medical student Liv, a student recently turned zombie who takes a job in a coroner to have access to fresh brains, required zombie sustenance that keeps Liv looking human. But along with eating said brains, comes unwanted memories, which is complicated when the victims were murdered. Alongside her medical examiner boss and a police detective, Liv helps solve homicidal cases to quiet the discontented voices in her head.
