CBS' Supergirl just added another recongizable DC Comics villain to their roster of characters. Peter Facinelli (Twilight) will play 'Maxwell Lord' in a recurring role on the show, which will premiere in the fall. The news was announced at Comic-Con, during Warner Bros. TV Super Hero Saturday Night event in Hall H. “Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I have been fans of Peter for years." EP Andrew Kreisberg said in an official release, "We’re beyond thrilled to have him join us on Supergirl’s first adventures bringing the iconic Maxwell Lord to life.”

Lord is an interesting choice of villain, having gone toe-to-toe with all kinds of DC superheroes over the years in the comics - even taking on the Trinity himself at one point (with deadly consequences). He was even set to feature as the villain in George Miller's Justice League Mortal, before its cancellation. On Supergirl, Lord will be a green tech billionaire, who is fascinated by the arrival of National City's new hero, and shares a friendly rivalry with Cat Grant.

How do you feel about Facinelli as Maxwell Lord? Could his casting here also rule him out from appearing in DC's movieverse? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Supergirl will premiere October 6 on CBS.

I don't want to spoil the pilot for those who haven't seen it,
But didn't they establish the big bad villain there?

So there's 2?

Well I don't know what to make of this news, on one hand I'm happy to finally see him in live action and on the other I can't help but believe this means he won't be coming to the Arrow or Flash.

@Hippo

Get over yourself. Just because you dont like something doesnt mean it's out to get you.

And "White males are doomed"

First of all, what? Surely you cant mean that considering both

1. White males rule everything(quite horribly)

2. The show is run by a white male.

Also, CBTV shows with white male leads
-Arrow
-Flash
-Gotham
-Walking Dead
-Lucifer
-Preacher
-Agents of Shield
-Daredevil
-Iron Fist
-Legends of Tomorrow

CBTV shows without white male leads
-Luke Cage
-Supergirl
-Aka JJ
-Agent Carter

Bit lopsided isnt it?
