SUPERGIRL Becomes An Enemy Of The State In The New Promo For Season 4, Episode 18

Supergirl is taking a few weeks off, but when it returns in late April, Kara is going to have her hands full when she finds herself being hunted by Agent Liberty and the President of the United States.

After falling for a trap set by Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer), Eve Teschmacher (Andrea Brooks), her Red Daughhter doppelgänger (Melissa Benoist), everyone's favorite Girl of Steel (Melissa Benoist) is now Public Enemy #1 in the eyes of the President and the American public, which isn't exactly great news.

While most would likely lay low for a few weeks until the heat died down, it doesn't look like Kara has any plans to put her duties as Supergirl aside as she gets right back into the thick of the action as she takes on the combined forces of the U.S. military and Agent Liberty (Sam Witwer).

"TBD" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

TBD (#418). Original airdate 4/21/2019.

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Jesse Rath as Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty
Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer
April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley
David Ajala as Manchester Black
Azie Tesfai as Kelly Olsen
Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El
Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor

I miss Lex. This episode was... a step down from the last two. It was alright/fine, but I was a little disappointed that it didn't build off of the last two episodes more. I expected the hunt for Eve to be more central and take up more of tonight.

I found much of the first 3/4 of the episode to be not overly interesting. Especially J'onn's struggles, didn't really care for that as much. He did have a great scene, the one where he shouts he is the Martian Manhunter. but his struggles were more of a distraction I felt from the rest of the episode. Thank goodness the plot line about him trying to be a man of peace has been seemingly put behind us, didn't overly care for it. Also, this episode reminded me that I would have liked to have spent more time on Mars in this series. A lot of missed opportunities there.

Didn't really care for the James stuff with his sister. His trauma is a fine plot point and could be explored well going forward, about how Lex has psychologically hurt him with all the torture and attacks over the years. Wonder when James is going to get powers...

The aunt or whoever of Eve side-plot was a bit lame, but it was neat to see a version of Metallo show up again, that was nice. And now we know how Otis was brought back to life.

I really didn't get the stuff with Lillian, how did Lex's writing indicate he was going to kill her in prison?

Also, how does no one except Supergirl and James see Eve's shape-shifting on national television? Thought that was a bit stupid.

The last 10 minutes though, starting when James and Kara arrive in Washington DC, that was really good. Nice to see the Lexosuit appear again (how many of these are there!?!). Red Daughter infiltrating the White House and attacking was great. And I liked that Lena and Alex are going to team up with Kara to prove her innocence.

The next episode looks good, great to see Lockwood suiting up again as Agent Liberty. About damn time, him in a suit and tie isn't that interesting.

OK episode. Not nearly as enjoyable as the last two...and I'm sorely missing Lex's presence. Who'd have thought that someone from Two and a Half Men, whose sole comic book appearance was Superman 4, could give us possibly one of the best Lex Luthors yet...and yes, I possibly might like him more than Rosenbaum just because he's more inherently evil than Smallville's Lex ever was. Plus the Lexosuit.

Lack of Lex wasn’t that much of a “doh!” feeling for me because the rest of the stories were handled well and ever since S3 the show has proven that it can stand on itself without him in other ways, the previous episodes earlier this month are proof of when they were fighting the Elite.

TBH I thought Kara was written in letting it slide and be bygones too quick with Lena because she was crystal clear in her request with the Harun-El: make more so that Argo City can continue living as always, not keep one of the synthetic ones behind everyone’s back and experiment away because even with a make up one this much damage happened with the return of Lex (plus powers) and now an equally strong Russian raised doppelgänger. Probably it’s me and the awareness of the small bias the writers have with Lena but I can’t shake it. She isn’t evil no but her decision making and also judgement has been Poot and they’re in this mess with Lex because of her.

Then again she still hasn’t told them the full story of why Lex got close in the first place, how he reached out to her and pulled strings so she would end up working at the DEO, all which she was aware about and why he set out to kill Jimmy. Looking forward to reveal those skeletons in her closet.

Couldn’t help but find it funny how Alex was so concerned about how Lena being “assaulted” when she was just drugged whereas Jimmy almost died and is the one now experiment genuine PSTD. 😐

David Harewood and Carl Lumby killed it in all their scenes. Just bravo. But J'onn chose the wrong timing to go outside the planet. At least he handled well his issue and is back in the game.

“You never know when you will need it” Kara to Brainy after getting back his Legion ring. Foreshadowing of something? She should keep her advice to herself too since she still has the one that Mon-El gave to her.

Won’t lie I missed Nia this week.

Metallo Otis? Nice reveal and can’t wait to see it in action. He might turn out to be tougher than the half made one that they beated earlier.

Eve isn’t so heartless if she saved her auntie with the serum. Gotta say though that her password reminded me to Scott's from Teen Wolf haha.

Pretty sure Eve pulled strings with that senator to make her repel the alien amnesty while posing as someone else and now with Supergirl as enemy number after that terrorist attack now Lex can show up later to be the hero.

The attack on the White House was brutal, adding Jimmy still suffering the effects of his PTSD made you get more involved in it.

Not surprising there are many Lexosuits, since S2 we know Lex had a big collections of vaults with many stuff in them from Lexosuits to Black Mercy and even an Atomic Axe. (The weapon that the Persuader from the Fatal 5 uses)

TBH Lockwood might start to re-think things after what Jimmy said if he finds out he’s been Lex's puppet all along. That is bad rep specially for the Children of Liberty. And if even Haley can smell the bs in the White House fiasco, then they’ all into something.

Lillian should be back for the finale, but I am curious what lead she could have given them in finding Lex.

See you all in two weeks.
