THE FLASH Season 5 Premiere Photos And Poster Feature Nora Allen/XS, The Villainous Gridlock, And Much More
The CW has released a new batch of images from the season five premiere of The Flash along with a very cool poster featured Barry Allen and his daughter racing into action side by side. Check them out...
Season five of The Flash is right around the corner and The CW has now released a new batch of official images from the upcoming premiere. These offer up a much better idea about what we should expect as we get to see Barry Allen rocking his original costume (presumably for the last time) and XS in action as Nora West-Allen makes her presence felt in Central City shortly after she's travelled back in time.
There are no spoilers here so don't worry about that and these are well worth taking a look at, especially as we get our best look yet at Nora's costume. Throw in the fact that an amazing new poster has been released which puts the spotlight on the Scarlet Speedster's new look and you need to hit that "View List" button ASAP. So, once you've done that, let us know in the comments section below.
The Flash always kicks things off with a throwaway villain and this year the honour goes to Gridlock. I don't know a huge amount about his comic book counterpart but he definitely looks cool here.
The CW has officially started referring to Nora West-Allen as XS, the same name used by her comic book counterpart. This costume is very cool but what's the deal with the different logo on her chest?
As per usual, Team Flash appears to be investigating this metahuman case but when are we going to see Ralph Dibny suited up at The Elongated Man again? Clearly, he's doing his P.I. thing in this shot.
Here, we see The Flash in his original suit and seeing as he's getting a new look this year, it will be interesting seeing just how much this classic version is missed by fans wary about his updated look.
One of the biggest complaints about The Flash's new suit is the fact that the chin strap has been ditched, so it's possible that The CW will address that by putting it back on the costume later on.
Barry and Joe have a heart to heart in this image as the Fastest Man Alive presumably asks his adoptive father (who now has a baby to look after) for some advice on how best to handle his future daughter!
Despite having a newborn to care for, it doesn't appear as if Joe will give up being part of Team Flash this year. That's definitely a smart move on the show's part as it wouldn't be the same without him.
This scene clearly takes place moments after the season four finale and we're hopefully going to learn what it is that Nora did to create such problems in the future and how they'll impact Team Flash.
Nora made a number of appearances throughout season four and had fans guessing all year about who she might be. Nora West-Allen was one of the most popular suggestions and was ultimately accurate.
Seeing as Nora has travelled from the future, it's going to be very interesting seeing whether or not she ultimately has to return to her own timeline or if her absence from that period can be explained.
It's been reported that there will be some tension between Iris West and her daughter and it sounds like that stems from them not having the best of relationships in the future. Can that be repaired?
Enjoy this look at Wally West because we won't be seeing much of him this year! Not only is he scheduled to make only a few appearances in The Flash but he won't be in Legends of Tomorrow either.
Cisco and Caitlin don't look too happy here! While we don't know much about what's to come for the former, rumour has it that we'll explore Snow's childhood this year and its ties to Killer Frost.
Another popular fan theory was that Joe and Cecile's daughter might be the mysterious girl who crossed paths with Team Flash during season four but will Nora have any knowledge of who she is?
There's no sign of him here but Cisco will have a new Harrison Wells to get used to this year: Sherloque Wells. The French detective is bound to shake things up and will no doubt be played for laughs.
Ralph gets a little competitive with Sherloque because he's not keen on someone stealing his spotlight. After all, he fancies himself as the team's detective but how do you compete with Sherlock Holmes?
So, what are your theories for what XS did in the future to cause so many problems in the past? It could be any number of things but it will be interesting seeing whether it ties into this year's big bad!
That seems unlikely based on what we've heard so far but you never know! Regardless, it's very cool seeing how her mother's jacket has been incorporated into her suit. They got on once upon a time.
As we noted above, XS looks very cool in The Flash and fans are hoping she becomes a permanent addition to the team. Here's hoping she fares better than the likes of Kid-Flash and Jesse Quick!
