HIS DARK MATERIALS: HBO's New Trailer Builds Up Anticipation For Their Newest Fantasy World

As a product of both HBO and BBC, His Dark Materials has mustered a stacked cast (James McAvoy, Dafne Keen, Lin Manuel-Miranda) , and striking production value. The question remains, will these efforts be reflective of the final product? In all fairness, the latest trailer for the anticipated adaptation does a lot to get viewers excited.

Compared to The Golden Compass, which was previously adapted to sceen in 2007, this iteration seems much more mature and eerie. Yet, as part of the adult-oriented network this does not come off as a surprise. The domestic release date for the series still has not been revealed. Check out the trailer below:

If you haven’t seen Chernobyl yet you’re doing yourself a disservice. Two episodes in and the show is HAUNTING.

@BreakTheCode

Honestly - there’s pros to binging and cons.

I fell in love with the show during the first episode. The atmosphere; the dread, the misunderstanding of how bad it really is.

It sucks you in. And the weekly breaks leaves a sense of tension you don’t get from binging episode to episode.

Totally up to you tho! The cast is all around excellent. Jared Harris and Stellan Skarsgaard being standouts so far. Honestly think this show will sweep the Emmy’s in the miniseries category.

Blows my mind it’s from one of the writers of the later Scary Movie movies.

Production begins. Man I would’ve killed for Batfleck to give us a Batman solo before BvS and the Justice League debacle.

The Town and Gone Baby Gone are incredibly good.

The 2007 movie is one of 3 times I fell asleep in the theater (there was also the Russell Crowe Robin Hood, and I forget what the other one was).
