The second season of
Westworld is believed to be premiering in Spring of this year, and when it does fans will see at least one familiar face. Actor Jimmi Simpson has confirmed his return for season 2. It's unclear how large of a role the actor will have in the new season, but he did reveal to reporters at the Television Critics Association's press tour that he's at least returning to Sweetwater in some capacity.
“I mean, yeah, I pop in,” Simpson revealed. “I wish there was exploration between the time when Williams’ heart was broken and we see the result. I want to know how much it takes and how hard he tried to not go there. But I don’t write the story.”
Warning: SPOILERS for Westworld Season 1
Jimmi played lovestruck theme park guest William who, by the end of season 1, was revealed to have been a younger version of the nefarious Man in Black (Ed Harris), his story told through flashbacks. Details for Season 2 are sparse, but it's possible the show could continue exploring the early days of the character.
HBO has yet to announce a premiere date for Westworld season 2, but if it is indeed debuting this spring, expect marketing to begin soon-ish.
