After delivering two critically acclaimed seasons, HBO’s Westworld will return for another go next year, and while plot details remain under wraps, a new report has shed some light on the length of the series’ third season.

According to The Wrap, season 3 will only run for 8 episodes, a minor reduction from the episode counts for seasons 1 and 2, which aired a total of 10 episodes each.

Currently, there are no details the length of these individual episodes, so it’s unclear whether Westworld will make up for the reduction by treating viewers to some super-sized episodes.

Westworld is expected to return for its third season some time during the first half of 2020 and will see stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, and Tessa Thompson return to reprise their respective roles.

Still need to start this show. Off topic: Anyone see in twitter the Guardian being toasted by everyone for dissing the powerpuff girls? That shut is funny.

Kinda makes sense. Got the idea that all different stories lines are gonna be replaced by one, so reducing the episode count might help in it not having a stretched out feel in the middle of the season (which S2 already kinda had)

It worked out great for Game of Thrones.

As long as its another high quality season like the last two, then I can live with two fewer episodes from this show.

Was season 2 good? I watched season 1 and more or less liked it, but thought it ended weak. I was worried enough about where it was heading that I didn’t feel motivated to watch season 2. So, was it good?
