As Marvel Studios' WandaVision spin-off, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, continues to round out its cast, the latest addition is none other than multi-time Tony Olivier, and Grammy Award-winning actress/singer, Patti LuPone.
Details on her character are being kept under wraps, but Deadline has heard that she might be playing another witch - hopefully one that's as fond of belting out a tune as star Kathryn Hahn, who performed the Emmy-winning "Agatha All Along" from WandaVision.
The series will also star Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata, and Emma Caulfield Ford, reprising her WandaVision role as Dottie. Aubrey Plaza is on board as the villain of the piece, and according a rumor that's gained some traction online, the Legion alum will be playing Morgan Le Fay.
Apparently, Agatha will attempt to keep the powerful sorceress' coven away from Billy Maximoff, who has caught the attention of Mephisto. Whether the demonic baddie will actually appear is unknown, but a previous rumor claims that Sacha Baron Cohen - who will play the character in Ironheart - did film a few scenes for the show.
Coven of Chaos will focus on powerful witch Agatha Harkness, who almost managed to defeat the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) in the season finale of WandaVision before being bested and trapped in Westview in her "nosy neighbor Agnes" persona. Though Olsen is not expected to appear, there's speculation that Wanda might have something to do with Harkness' release and/or reformation following the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Jac Schaeffer, who is under a joint overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television, will serve as writer and executive producer. A recent report indicated that he will also helm at least one episode.
No premiere date has been announced.
