The Marvel-Netflix era has officially come to an end, with Netflix cancelling its final two Marvel properties at the beginning of this week. And while the fallout of Netflix's decision to end its partnership with Marvel continues, there is one series cancellation in particular that hit fans hard: Daredevil.
After the critically acclaimed Marvel series was cancelled following its outstanding third season that left fans wanting more, the #SaveDaredevil campaign was launched to raise public support for the show and convince another network to rescue the series.
While the online petition to save the series is nearing 300,000 signatures, the Fandom Without Fear took their movement from social media into the real world on Friday. The campaign purchased five minutes of screen time on two billboards in New York's Times Square during the lunch hour, unveiling their message to a huge audience.
One billboard featured a revolving set of at least 13 images of cast members from Season 3, below the SaveDaredevil banner. The other billboard was static, championing the efforts to revive the series along with this quote from Battlin' Jack Murdock: "The measure of a man is not how he gets knocked to the mat, it's how he gets back up." This is the same quote that Jeph Loeb used at the end of his message to Marvel fans earlier this week.
