Marvel's Kevin Feige On The Possibility Of Charlie Cox Returning As DAREDEVIL: "We'll See"

Rumors have been circulating that Charlie Cox might be set to reprise the role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil in both Spider-Man 3 and She-Hulk, and Marvel's Kevin Feige has now addressed those reports...

Rumors relating to Charlie Cox's potential return as Matt Murdock have been doing the rounds since Netflix's Daredevil was cancelled after three seasons, but recent reports have indicated that it may soon become a reality.

Not only is Cox expected to reprise the role for the currently shooting Spider-Man 3, but Kevin Feige himself has seemingly hinted that the Man Without Fear could show up in the Disney+ She-Hulk series.

Of course, until we get official word, we have no way of knowing for sure what's in store for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, and Feige wasn't about to let any cats out of any bags during an interview with Collider. When asked about the chances of Cox returning, the Marvel President chose his words as carefully as ever, but his reaction to the question may speak volumes!

"Is there any chance that Charlie Cox could be back as Daredevil or do you consider what happened with Netflix almost like an alternate universe?"

FEIGE: "I look at anything that's happened before, whether it's our movies, whether it's Marvel entertainment TV series, in particular, obviously the comics, video games, cartoons, all of it is available as inspiration for the future of Marvel. That's the way that comics have worked for many years. So, we'll see."

"I think a lot of people really loved Charlie in that role and are hopeful that he can find a way back."

"He wouldn’t say anything. Just looked at me and smiled."

Feige is notorious for his non-answers, but his response was interesting. If Marvel Studios is planning to reintroduce Daredevil, they have a perfect opportunity to do so with the (supposed) Multiverse spanning Spider-Man 3 and the courtroom-based She-Hulk.

What do you guys make of Feige's comments? Do you think we'll see Cox back in the Daredevil suit again at some point?

@MovieMonster - It would be much better with someone other than MCU's spider-child.
GwenLantern - 1/13/2021, 11:40 AM
@Razorface1 - He's 24. How old does your Spider-man have to be? 54, like Tobey Maguire?!
Razorface1 - 1/13/2021, 4:14 PM
@GwenLantern - HE could just not act like a child, that would be good.

That's a yes.

I like how Feige never straight up lies about these kinds of things. He just has a mastery of his words.

Frankly I read the implications negatively. The way he worded his answer was underwhelming vis-a-vis the TV shows.

Otoh he didn't shoot a Charlie Cox appearance down which I would think he would be obligated to if the cast was locked up with Netflix.
GwenLantern - 1/13/2021, 11:44 AM
@JDL - I guess he did kinda lump the Netflix shows in with literally any other story/material in Marvel history.

Sounds like he does not consider them canon at all. Who knows, though, if JK Simmons can come back... so can Cox. Man I love me some Cox.
JDL - 1/13/2021, 3:19 PM
@GwenLantern - At the very least he's not committing to anything at this point,
99OPTIMISTPRIME - 1/13/2021, 9:54 AM
Yeah, he's not even ready to confirm that Charlie Cox will appear in the Spider-Man movie.😂

Okay. I was at a cheese tasting club with my cousin Bob, which was mainly Stilton, and you know I don't love stilton man, you know? But there was a goat cheese that saved the day, it was delightful. Anyway, the host tells me about this girl Emily that he used to kick it with, it was actually the first pair of boobs that he ever touched...

So, uh, he tells me that she's working as a housekeeper now, right? And she's dating this dude Carlos who's a shot caller from across the bay and she tells him about the dude that she's cleaning for. Right? That he's, like, this big-shot producer for some comic book genre movie thing... And so, Carlos and Tom are on the same football team and they get talking, right? And here comes the good part. Carlos says: "Yo, man. This guy's got a book filled with his future movies and castings'." Of course Tom comes to me cause he knows I've got mad thieving skills. Of course I ask him: "Did Emily tell Carlos to tell you to get to me what kind of book it was?” And he says: "Nah, dog. All she said is that it's, like, super legit, and Charlie Cox is gonna return as Daredevil.”
