Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner proved himself a real hero this year when he saved his nephew in a slow plow accident that very nearly ended up costing the actor his life.
Initially, it was unclear how well Renner would recover from his life-threatening injuries, but he's clearly as tough as the Avenger he plays in the MCU as his recovery seems to be going well. While he still has a long way to go (he's currently using a walking stick, for example), it sounds like Renner is ready and willing to suit up as Clint Barton again.
During a panel at the Phoenix Fan Fusion event this weekend, the Avengers: Endgame star was asked about his future as Hawkeye, prompting him to confirm he's just waiting to receive a call from Marvel Studios.
Whether he'll be ready to shoot movies like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars is hard to say, though delays caused by the ongoing WGA strike may go in Renner's favour.
After all, those give him more time to recover and mean the actor can be better prepared to reprise his role as Hawkeye, even if it's in a smaller-than-usual capacity. While his solo series alongside Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop was a hit on Disney+, there's never been any indication that a season 2 was being planned.
