LOKI Director Kate Herron Reveals That Chris Hemsworth Himself Provided The Voice Of Throg!

Believe it or not, Loki director Kate Herron enlisted the voice of Thor: Love and Thunder star Chris Hemsworth for Throg, aka "Frog Thor," this this past Wednesday's penultimate episode...

This past Wednesday's episode of Loki, "Journey into Mystery," featured a brief appearance from Throg (Thor as a frog, for those who may need an explanation), and director Kate Herron has now revealed that Chris Hemsworth himself actually provided the voice for the awesome amphibian Avenger.

"Throg, obviously, getting him in [was great]. And we recorded Chris Hemsworth for that, by the way," Herron confirmed while being interviewed on the For All Nerds podcast. "We recorded him for that, that’s new recording. That’s a whole new recording, not recycled, he recorded that!"

Throg didn't actually have any decipherable lines of dialogue, but he did let out a little yelp as he attempted to escape his jar to reach Mjolnir, but it's still hilarious to think that the Thor: Love and Thunder star was enlisted for such a seemingly inconsequential cameo.

While Throg's appearance was almost certainly meant as little more than an Easter Egg for comic book fans, many viewers are now anxious to see more of the little blighter, so if Loki does return for a second season - and there's a decent chance that it will - we might get to see the further adventures of the Frog of Thunder.

Did you spot Throg during the episode? Would you like to see more of him in the MCU? Drop us a comment down below, and be sure to tune in for what promises to be an eventful season finale of Loki next Wodensday.

I'm looking forward to him escaping from the jar and helping Loki most likely in the final episode. Hopefully I'm not wrong, because it will stink if this is all we get of him.

@BlackIceJoe - I'm with you it'll be cool to see him in action but I think he's nothing more than an Easter egg.

@WakandanQueen - ok so I have come to the realization that some people are total [frick]ing idiots who bitch and whine because their life ain’t worth a damn. Lots of mom issues going on with these fools

Seems like Loki blew FATWS and Wandavision numbers out the water

@PantherKing - Loki and WandaVision are better overall than Falcon And The Winter Soldier.

@marvel72 - I need to rewatch FATWS but wandavision and Loki are definitely top tier but I appreciate what that series did for Falcon and winter soldier in pushing their stories forward.

@PantherKing - I finished WV and couldn’t get past the 1st ep of TFWS and only watched 1 ep Loki so far but it was my favorite of all 3.

@PantherKing - Wandavision is still my favorite one, plus nothing could beat the rampant speculation the entire community had for that show. I thought FATWS had a really tight script until the last episode when the Flagsmashers became generic.

I think Loki has the best production budget but the script isn’t as tight as the others. Not drinking the koolaid on this series until the finale next week

Throg and Alligator Loki team up in finale to help Loki and Sylvie defeat either "He still remains" creator of The Time Keepers or Imortus.

It still could be a Loki variant.

I guess he recorded the lines for that cut scene where Throg is shown fighting Loki, and that they finally didn't use them. Or maybe we haven't seen the last of Throg yet. Or maybe both.

Sounds like a waste since you can barely tell he's talking.

@Origame - You couldn’t even see him if you were watching it on a phone. Disney+ really screws with the HDR and everything is much darker than it should be

@DaHyro - maybe that's why you don't watch something on a phone?
