It was sort of a close fight i should say. Terry Crews won with 400 votes but not far behind was Michael Jai white with 382 votes. Coming in third place is the main man Idris Elba with 351 votes. I know Terry Crews looks like he just stepped out of a comic book but why exactly do a lot of folks on here want him to play Luke Cage on the big screen?

This really needs to be done. Paul Walker as Danny/Iron Fist. We need a action/comedy buddy type movie. How else can he say "Sweet Christmas" in a dark action drama? Go old school like "48 hrs." or "Rush Hour". Not campy just action packed and funny as hell. Give me some support guys!!!!!!

I see the same tired names marched out over and over again for Luke Cage. We don’t need any of them.

Its not like we are trying to cast a perfect Comic accurate Wolverine here. That would be a hard casting decision.

Southern California is overflowing with Handsome/Rugged, buff black actors over 6 feet tall. Casting Luke Cage will be a cake walk for Marvel.

I don't think terry crews is the perfect man either but out of the three i would've chosen him. Micheal Jae isn't a good actor and you can see that by his movies because they always flunk. Besides he's way too buffed and that's not a good look. Idris, on the other hand, he's definitely the best actor but he simply doesn't look like a luke cage.

Idris Elba's a badass, but I don't want him as Luke Cage (especially since Cage would be in the MCU, which Elba is already a part of). Get Terry Crews or the Spice Guy, save Jai White for Blade.

Really...Jai white for blade? For Spawn? He was spawn 20 or so years ago! And the guy is not exactly the best actor.

The actor needs to be at least 6'3"
(LUKE is listed at MARVEL as 6'6".)

He also should be a little younger than
this list. MJW is only 6' tall, too
short. He'd be better as the new BLADE.

And hell no to the yellow shirt and tiara!
Come on...in this day & age? "Geez!"

It should be LUKE & DANNY along with COLLEEN
& MISTY in a HEROES FOR HIRE movie.

Well, Idris isn't too old but he
doesn't have LUKE'S physique.

The OLD SPICE guy is a terrible actor
(He was awful on CHUCK!). He's 6'3"
but just all wrong for LUKE.

He won because Alex Ross used his face in one of his covers. I don't remember which one, but the image sticks out in my mind. My 2 cents...

From my standpoint Terry Crews fits the bill with his background, looks, and age. I've always viewed Luke Cage in the comics as being a little older, wiser, and expereinced having lived in the environment that he has.

Answer me this, Selina or anyone else, is Idris Elba the guy that was on The Office and in The Losers? That guy is my second favorite choice.

Was tyrese considered because I think hes the one who's popular and bankable to make a movie about luke cage work, or show up in a marvel movie as a co-star!!! Thats just what I think

@Fonzieismypal- please let's not get into a racial debate. Luke Cage is a black man. I would say "african american" but I believe that "american" is enough. Crews has the skill and the attitude, HE IS LUKE CAGE!

@ Selina- Thank you, I forgot how much I like Idris. He definitely needs a bigger part in a comic book movie. Maybe even John Stewart in the next Green Lantern movie and transition him into a Justice League movie!
