With Moon Knight exploring Egyptian mythology, we've been hoping for a Rama-Tut reference for some time now. For those of you unfamiliar with that character, he's a Kang the Conqueror Variant who travelled back in time from the 31st Century before getting trapped in Ancient Egypt. With access to future technology, Nathaniel Richards became the all-powerful Pharaoh Rama-Tut.
After the events of Loki, it would be a real missed opportunity not to do something with Kang here, but last Wednesday's episode did actually include a reference to this particular Variant.
On the jacket worn by one of Arthur Harrow's followers, we see a design that clearly pays homage to Rama-Tut. The design and colours are all reminiscent of the villain, and the New Rockstars team - who spotted this Easter Egg - claim to have confirmed with Moon Knight's crew members that this was an intentional choice. Whether it pays off down the line remains to be seen, though.
There's already been speculation that Ammit's first Avatar (who betrayed her) might have been Kang, but with only three episodes of Moon Knight left, the clock is ticking on a possible Kang cameo. Even if that doesn't happen, we know Jonathan Majors will return as the time-traveller in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and it's there we could learn more about his past...and future.
Did you spot this Rama-Tut reference in Moon Knight?
