As well as introducing Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel also took us to the first annual AvengerCon. It was there the teenager discovered her incredible new powers, and fans were treated to lots of fun Easter Eggs.
Concept artist Shae Shatz recently took to Instagram to share some of his work on the Disney+ series, including a cosplayer at the event who is dressed as Cyclops! We're not sure what to make of this; on the one hand, it seems likely that Shatz was just having some fun and included one of his favourite comic book characters in the background.
On the other, following that big reveal that Kamala is a mutant, we can't help but wonder if there was a time Ms. Marvel was set to come out after the MCU debut of the X-Men.
For now, we can only speculate, which is also true for Ms. Marvel's MCU future. While Iman Vellani will reprise the role in The Marvels next year, there's still no word on a season 2, leaving Loki as the only series to have so far received a second batch of episodes.
Talking to ComicBook.com, Ms. Marvel cinematographer Jules O'Loughlin confirmed neither he nor director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy have been contacted about a second season.
"Listen, hand on heart, I can honestly say that at this stage, I haven't heard of any plans for a Season 2," O'Loughlin noted. "There's so much going on with Marvel and there's stuff happening and popping up all the time, but I haven't heard of anything, Sharmeen hasn't heard of anything. The next thing for Iman, and the character of Kamala is to be in The Marvels."
"But at this stage, there hasn't been any talk of a season two on Ms. Marvel," he concluded. We're hopeful this might change down the line, and our best bet for an update on that front is going to be this September's Disney+ Day and D23.
