We've known that Brian Michael Bendis' Powers was coming to the PlayStation Network for a while, and now we finally have our first casting announcement. According to Deadline, Susan Heyward (The Following) will play Deena Pilgrim; who's described as "equal parts beauty and sarcasm, a wunderkind detective with edgy style". In the comics she partners up with Christian Walker -- who used to be a Power himself -- but no word on who'll be playing him yet. We do have a couple of supporting roles though: Adam Godley (Breaking Bad) will play Captain Cross, head of the Powers division of the police department, and Max Fowler (The Killing) will play the son of Walker’s deceased partner, who was murdered by a power. Bendis, Oeming and Michael Dinner will executive produce the show, with Huston and Remi Aubuchon (Falling Skies).

I'm sure the show would be interesting and all but Sony didn't have to shove it down our throats back in E3 last month.

I'm not usually a fan of Bendis' efforts but Powers was an intriguing concept.

@BogsBinny I'm not surprised Sony had to do that. With Kaz pushing the One Sony ethos, it most likely was a company mandate to include some Sony pictures content in the Show. Look at how they marketed Amazing Spiderman 2 on PSN, it was all on the front page of the PS store and the pre order for the blue ray was too.

I'm sure she's great but I really liked the cast from the original pilot.
:( Lucy Punch would've been awesome.

This could end up being a sleeper hit show! Looking forward to see who they cast as Walker. Was not a fan of Jason Patrick when he was announced in the role for the other version. Though I am a fan of his in general. Chris both would be interesting, but he might be a bit older than they are looking for.

Too bad they're not Keeping Charles Dutton as the chief. He was the only original casting I was on board with. Oh, and Titus Welliver as Triphammer. He's cool.

Tamoh Penniket would make a good Walker:

In my mind a huge jaw is a prerequisite. Or there's always Robert Z'Dar...

Instead of casting black actors in roles that originate from white characters, why not just creat new, strong, meaningful black characters? You change the character completely when this happens. The character's background, experiences, attitudes, etc...they all change, thus changing the character. If you're going to make Powers (Pilgrim), or FF (Torch), or DD (Kingpin), make Powers, FF or DD. I would love to see a good Luke Cage, Falcon, Cyborg, or Black Panther movie. But if they cast a white guy as Luke Cage, it's no longer Luke Cage no matter what it's titled.

Badblake- deenas race really does not matter if you read powers. Like really. We tend to see white people as the default humans which is why so many characters are white people. It's a form of white supremacy most people who are not even racist realise. Her personality is so race neutral that I wouldn't care if she was chinese and her partner was Samoan. There is nothing that says they have to be white. Watch the show isn't even gona follow the comic closely.

Also please people stop saying what if luke cage was white. He was created to be an urban character. Just like cap was the face of america in the forties. It's so crazy when people try to use that as a comparison.

@TheDudeRusty:
I'll reword that in stronger phrasing:
I positively hate everything Bendis does in the Marvel books.
But I love Powers.
