Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll be getting to see WandaVision this side of 2021 after all.
Along with pretty much every other major studio, the pandemic threw Disney's original release schedule into disarray when the Marvel Disney+ TV shows that managed to enter production this year were hit with significant filming delays. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was moved off the 2020 calendar completely, but we had been led to believe that WandaVision would still make its way to the streamer before the end of the year.
However, a chat session with Disney+ customer support (via Twitter user @cinemAddikt) in Latin America tells a different story.
Here's the rough translation (via The Direct).
"Yes, they are looking to promote the Disney classics, but of course there will be much more content, as previously mentioned, like The Simpsons, we'll have the Marvel movies and series; WandaVision premieres in January. National Geographic documentaries, etc."
No word from Marvel/Disney on this so there is still a chance we will see WandaVision this December (it may also be a regional delay), but the fact that the Mouse House has yet to announce an official premiere date for the show had already led to speculation that it must have been pushed into 2021, so this news wouldn't be all that surprising.
Again, nothing official here, but we'll be sure to keep you guys updated.
Welcome to WandaVision. Coming soon to Disney+. Marvel Studios' captivating new series "WandaVision" stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
