WHAT IF? Promo Art Reveals New Looks At Zombie Captain America And..."Party Thor"

Some newly revealed promo art for What If? offers fresh looks at the Zombie Captain America and an alternate version of the God of Thunder, who, for some reason, has been dubbed "Party Thor." Check it out!

Over the weekend, a poster for What If? was spotted out in the wild, and we now have some new promo art for the Disney+ series.

As you can see below, Zombie Captain America is highlighted alongside The Watcher (voiced by The Batman star Jeffrey Wright) and a version of the God of Thunder who has been dubbed "Party Thor." Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to what that means!

Perhaps there's simply a Thor somewhere out in the Multiverse who likes to party? That remains to be seen, but based on what we've recently learned about What If?, the series is heading down a different path than expected with all of these animated characters possibly part of the same world.

A synopsis for the series was shared during last year's Disney Investor Day, revealing: "'What If…?' flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways."

"Coming to Disney+ in summer 2021, Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU," it continues, "featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. The series is directed by Bryan Andrews; Ashley Bradley is head writer."

We still don't have an official premiere date for What If?, but it is expected to debut on Disney+ over the summer. Chances are the show will hit the streaming service in July or August.

I really wanted an animated feature film for the Marvel Zombies, but I will take what I can get.

I would guess "Party Thor" is the douchebag version of the character before Odin teaches him a lesson in Thor 1.

He appears to have the blonde eyebrows from Thor 1 in that image so it would make sense if that's what they were going for.

@528491 - I'm guessing this is what if thor was able to lift the hammer when he was at the Shield HQ site.

What if Thor didn't land in Puente Antiguo, but in Coachella?

Isn't Thor already party Thor? This is the character who, in his first movie, thinks you smash your glass when you want another drink. And let's not forget his 3 days of revelry in age of ultron.

I feel like they had ONE idea for a good what if and then greenlit the show anyway.

@Razorface1 - still don't get the logic of star lord tchalla. Of all the characters, I really don't see him agreeing to leave earth, nor do I know why yondu would take him in the first place.

@Origame - Should probably watch and find out then lol

@Origame - He took T'Challa as a kid just like he did Peter Quill. It's simply a matter of what part of Earth Yondu arrived to kidnap a Terran.

@newhire13 - no, but I've seen black panther and all the guardians movies. Tchalla has been shown to be incredibly happy with his family life, and yondu only took Peter because of ego.

@Tonic24k - but why? Did he think tchalla was the kid ego fathered? Why would ego just vaguely tell him to go to earth without giving a general idea of where to look, because Africa's pretty far off from the us?
