With HBO's Game of Thrones coming to an end this year, the hunt to find the next big blockbuster fantasy action series is on and Netflix's The Witcher looks to be a prime contender along with Amazon's Lord of the Rings series. Today, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandso revealed the series will land in Q4 - meaning the 4th quarter of the year which is just over 5 months away. The series has added heat for being leading star Henry Cavill's first starring role after his rumored departure from the Warner Bros.' DCEU franchise where he starred in 3 films as Superman before being supposedly dumped as negotiations did not work out.

No official image has been released yet save for a brief make-up test of Cavill though in recent months Cavill has been sharing images of his physical transformation into Geralt of Rivia on social media as seen in the banner image. He recently told Men's Health UK, "I'm in the best shape of my life" for the role and that the trick to transforming into Geralt was a neat cardio hack that he used - "Out of all the things I’ve done in the past.. fasted cardio.. is actually working best for me. I didn’t believe it was possible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time." He also detailed his grueling schedule for the show which requires him to wake up at 3 AM for hair and make-up and entails 15-16 hour shoot days over and above punishing 2-hour gym workouts to get in shape for the character.

The 8-part series is based on the series of fantasy novels and short stories by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The property has already been translated into a highly successful video game series and follows the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who travels the Continent and battles deadly beasts.

Let us know in the comments section if you are looking forward to the series now that Game of Thrones is coming to an end.

The Witcher 3 is one of the best games of all time.

But I have little faith in this. Netflix overall doesn't make very good shows.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - they have some pretty big hits.

Yeah, you still can't lose fat and gain muscle at the same time without ahem, enhancements (the delts are a dead giveaway). One requires a caloric deficit and the other requires a surplus. They simply don't work at the same time. 🤷‍♂️

@sully - so he's juicing?

@sully - I've never done what Cavill is talking about here but if hes fasting then his body will use stored engery (fat) in the morning when he runs and then when he hits the weights he will eat a specific amount of food to compensate for the amount of work his body has done in order to build muscle.

@Ryguy88 - and Cavill has the receipts right. His picture shows he has more muscle AND is more shredded than before. So it looks like it worked for him.

@sully - Just as you say his delts suggest that he’s juicing, I’d say that his traps suggests otherwise.

@sully - that’s where you’re wrong... Protein is the building blocks of muscle yet does not transition into fat, so as long as you can consume over a gram of protein for every pound of your weight (together with a low carb intake) and train a few times a week... muscle mass will grow and fat will burn! I consume between 250g-300g of protein every day and have done for the last 8 months and I’ve put on over 2 stone while burning a considerable amount of fat (e
38inch waistline to a 34inch) and absolutely no illegal substances.
