The Witcher is already a hit video game, but Andrzej Sapowski's series of novels is now being adapted for Netflix. A total of eight episodes have been ordered for the show which will include episodes directed by the likes of Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (Daredevil), Alik Sakharov (Game of Thrones), and Charlotte Brandstrom (Outlander).

Henry Cavill has landed the lead role of Geralt of Rivia and he will be joined by Freya Allan (Ciri, Princess of Cintra), Jodhi May (Queen Calanthe), and Adam Levy (Mousesack).

Now, a photo from the Spanish set of The Witcher reveals what may be our first look at Cavill shooting the series. It's admittedly taken from a distance but, if we're lucky, we'll soon get some detailed images that'll give us a beter idea of what we can expect from the small screen adaptation.

"When destiny hurtles [Geralt] toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret," reads the synopsis, "the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile continent together."

Are you looking forward to checking this one out?
