AHSOKA Easter Egg May Reveal Baylan Skoll's Shocking Connection To Original Trilogy Characters - SPOILERS

Ray Stevenson's Baylan Skoll has stolen the show in Ahsoka but a newly spotted Easter Egg appears to turn everything we thought we knew about the villain on its head. Find more details after the jump...

Baylan Skoll has grabbed the attention of Star Wars fans from the start. In recent weeks, we've learned that the Ahsoka villain is an Order 66 survivor who has turned his back on the Jedi but isn't a Sith. Instead, his allegiance appears to be somewhere in the middle and is probably best described as a "Dark Jedi."

The late Ray Stevenson has delivered a phenomenal performance as the character and "Far, Far Away" confirmed Baylan is only loyal to Grand Admiral Thrawn for his own mysterious and sinister reasons.

It seems he wants to unleash whatever dark power resides within Peridia so he can bring peace to the Galaxy...by any means necessary. As we first revealed on SFFGazette.com, speculation is running rampant about a peculiar Easter Egg spotted in last Tuesday's episode of Ahsoka

While eagle-eyed fans have already zeroed in on what they believe is his old Kyber Crystal on the villain's belt, a closer look at the Aurebesh text displayed on his wrist reveals a list of names we're sure you'll recognise.

Easter Egg Further Links The Villain To Joruus C'baoth - SPOILERS

Those are  Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, R2-D2, C-3PO, and Ben (presumably Ben Solo, the future Kylo Ren, rather than Ben Kenobi).

This may be an obscure, throwaway Easter Egg meant just for fans, though we're pretty sure Ahsoka showrunner Dave Filoni would put more thought into a reference like this. Some fans believe it's the Dark Jedi's hit list, while others have taken it as confirmation he's going to be a new take on Joruus C'Baoth.

In Timothy Zahn's "Heir to the Empire" trilogy, Joruus is the deranged clone of a Jedi who fought in the Clone Wars and later worked with Thrawn in an effort to capture Luke, Leia, and the latter's twin children so he could train them as part of his new, twisted Jedi Order.

There are definite similarities between him and Baylan and Stevenson's character may well be Filoni's own take on the villain (similar to how Rukh evolved from page to screen). If so, the original trilogy heroes may all come under fire in the filmmaker's upcoming Star Wars movie (though Baylan will have to be recast).

We'll have to wait and see but this Easter Egg has definitely generated quite the debate on social media...

@harryba11zack - ...I mean, if he does on this show, I'll consider that his adaptation of space punisher. Gotta take what you can now that he's gone (rip).

Interesting easter egg if true. The speculation is ridiculous on this show so who knows what to believe.

Josh should do a list of all of the speculative articles that were dead [frick]ing wrong at the finale of the series.

And then a poll

Did anyone validate that that’s the translation? I call bullshit that it says Chewie. It’s a nickname. That would mean familiarity. It should say Chewbacca.

@WhatIfRickJames - maybe it's just shortened since it needs to fit on his wrist screen, and chewie just isn't as important as Luke or Leia.

@Origame - looks like there’s some room for a couple or three more characters to me…

Or the text could be a reminder to pickup groceries for the ship

@WhatIfRickJames - id love it if that were the intended interpretation.

The answer is obvious. He is the younger brother of Shmi Skywalker. YES! Darth Vader's uncle!

Growing up loving the Heir to the Empire books, I loved Joruus as a character. Just a cool, unique villain that represented growing storytelling instead of “rehashed plot lines and character arcs”.

However, given unfortunate real life events I would hope he’s not Joruus for the simple reason I’d hate to not see his character expanded further.
