The latest episode of Andor saw Cassian and Kino Loy come together to stage a jailbreak. Rising up against their captors, the prisoners manage to overpower the Imperials and tear through the floating stronghold. Along the way, Andy Serkis delivers one of the best performances of his career, inspiring his men to fight back with a chill-inducing speech.

Ultimately, they fight their way to freedom and reach a platform with their only means of escape: a huge jump into the water below. They can swim to shore, of course, but there's a slight problem.

In one of the most devastating Star Wars moments in recent memory, Kino turns to Cassian and admits, "I can't swim."

A perplexed Cassian seems to be mulling over ways to help his newfound ally, but is pushed from the platform into the water below when the rest of the prisoners make their bid for freedom. As a result, we don't see what becomes of Kino, though it appears he will remain stuck in that floating prison.

There's a chance we'll see him next week, but we have a bad feeling poor Kino's fate will be left up in the air. Either way, it feels like death awaited him. At the end of the episode, Cassian and Rogue One's Ruescott Melshi make a bid for freedom across the barren wastelands of the planet, and it's clear that leaving there won't be as easy as it may have first appeared.

Elsewhere in Andor, Mon Mothma learns that Davo Sculdun will only give her access to the money she needs if her daughter marries his son. We also find out Supervisor Lonni Jung is secretly working for Luthen Rael, and learn more about why the Rebel is so committed to the cause in a blistering scene with Stellan Skarsgård.

All in all, this was a terrific episode of Andor and one that sets the stage for a very exciting final couple of episodes.

A fantastic episode and another episode of peak Star Wars from the show (along with e6's "The Eye"). Great writing, great dialogue, great acting, great atmosphere. They certainly delivered in terms of the prison break after building it up for a few episodes. And the Skarsgard scene at the end was great as well.

@HeavyMetal4Life - agreed with all of that. Man, i really love this show. At times its a super slowburn and irritates me... but man the pay off with the big heist and the jail break has been peak Star Wars and fantastic. I really like this show a ton

Gotta say that after BoBF, this is a breath of fresh air. Enjoyed Mando a lot, but I just feel way more invested in these characters and the writing is top notch. SW has been a bit hit and miss since the sequel trilogy era, but this such a treat. Rogue One was my favorite live action addition with certain episodes of Mando up there too, but I think this might take it.

AMAZING episode. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Serkis’ character in this arc may be one of the best characters in Star Wars. really well rounded motivation and change over three episodes.

This is some top tier Star Wars.

Jeez man, I can’t really swim either but when tossed into a pool at a party, I dog paddled to the edge 🤷🏽‍♂️

Like, maybe he’d die because of ocean currents or whatever, but he could’ve just taken the leap LOL

"Hey Andy Serkis, we already let you play one of the worst characters in Disney era Star Wars (and that's saying something) - how would you like to also play one of the best? You're allowed to act this time as well."

@Kyos - haha, good one.

I wouldn't say Snoke was the worst though. There was so much potential, they just fumbled it as they didn't have a clear plan on the character, or the trilogy as a whole!

Kino Loy is definitely Rey.

Luthen, not a protagonist, no fighting skills, no force powers, no flying skills and yet one of the best Star Wars characters we've had in quite sometime. Good writing can do wonders, hope this quality level goes into future projects.

I'm really getting into this show now. I feel like it should've started a few episodes back. I don't think all the preamble was as important as the showrunners seemed to think. Certainly wasn't worth 6 long episode just for the show to finally begin, but whatever. I'm hooked now.

They may have lost a large chunk of viewers due to impatience though.

Stellan Skarsgard and Andy Serkis were brilliant in this episode. This is what a TV series should be!

What an incredible show. Star Wars is honestly lucky to have this be a part of its canon. The fact that all this triumph and heartbreak will eventually lead to the rebellion singing Yub Nub along with the ewoks in Endor is truly something.
