A new promo banner for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series has found its way online, giving us a teasing glimpse of a rematch of epic proportions.

We've known for a while now that the legendary Jedi Master would confront Darth Vader at some point during this show, and even though some fans feel their face-off is a retcon too far (we'd been led to believe they hadn't seen each other since the events of Revenge of The Sith, but there's always soon for interpretation), it should be a lightsaber duel for the ages.

Check out the merchandise art below, and be sure to keep an eye out for a (possible) new teaser over the next couple of weeks.

Set in between the events of the prequels and the original trilogy, the show will find Kenobi watching over a young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. When the ruthless Sith Inquisitors arrive in search of surviving Jedi, Obi-Wan sets out on a new adventure which will bring him face-to-face with his former Padawan turned bitter enemy, Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen).

The cast also includes Rupert Friend as the villainous Grand Inquisitor, Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Owen and Beru Lars, Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie and Maya Erskine.

Star Ewan McGregor recently announced that Obi-Wan Kenobi will now premiere two days later than originally advertised on Friday, May 27, but the show will debut with a double-episode.

I think the line in ANH works better if the last time they met was ROTS. Because there's no way in hell kenobi is taking the vader from jedi fallen order or from the comics. But whatever it's disney/Lucasfilm they won't be happy until they ruin everything about star wars.

In Episode IV/ the original STAR WARS, Luke father's is definitely dead. Darth Vader is just and only Darth Vader, the guy who killed him. Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader are two separate characters. I'm sick of reading and listening to those fanboys who pretend the contrary. In Lucas's original vision, Vader was NOT the important mythological character that he became.

This was my most anticipated project, even before it was confirmed. I've wanted McGregor to return to the role for so long. Obi-wan is my favorite character...

And yet they've managed to kill nearly all my hype with this BS. I can't believe they're seriously throwing the canon in the garbage this casually. Fans hating on TLJ and Disney's overreaction to it has really wrecked havoc on the franchise. Micro-managed, focus-grouped fan service nonsense.
