OBI-WAN KENOBI Details Reveal ROGUE ONE And JEDI FALLEN ORDER Connections - Possible SPOILERS

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set around the same time as Rogue One and Jedi Fallen Order, and a new report sheds some light on how the Disney+ series will link up to both that movie and the popular video game...

In the Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order video game, we were introduced to Cal Kestis, one of many Jedi Padawans who had gone on the run following the enactment of Order 66 in Revenge of the Sith. Along the way, he was pursued by Sith Inquisitors and the Empire's Purge Troopers, and there are some obvious similarities here between this game and Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi.

While we know Darth Vader's Sith Inquisitors will be taking aim at "Ben" Kenobi, Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com) is reporting that both Obi-Wan Kenobi and the upcoming Jedi Fallen Order sequel will feature a new iteration of those Purge Troopers. Apparently, their helmets have undergone a slight redesign and are said to be a little more in line with Rogue One's Shore Troopers.

The site also shares a few minor spoilers for Obi-Wan Kenobi, revealing, "The 501st and the Purge Troopers with their new helmets hunt down Obi-Wan on a large ship that ends up on Jabiim. The ship has been compared to the transport ship Mando sees the little green kid on in The Book of Boba Fett. I am pretty sure they have some action in the first confrontation against Darth Vader."

This sounds awesome, and with Star Wars Celebration on the horizon, we'll probably get a first look at these redesigned Purge Troopers there. In terms of how else Obi-Wan Kenobi will tie into Jedi Fallen Order and vice versa, that's probably it, but there are bound to be some noteworthy Easter Eggs.

In related news, you may recall that Jabiim was one of many planets the Republic went to war on in the Expanded Universe. Now, it's set to be added to the current continuity in Obi-Wan Kenobi, with O'Shea Jackson playing one of the Partisans who, as we know, are aligned with one Saw Garrera. It's still early days for the group (and no, Jackson isn't playing a younger version of Forest Whittaker's military hero).

It's explained that these Partisan fighters are using blasters and weaponry from the Clone Wars, something that understandably brings back memories for Obi-Wan. After previously fighting on the planet, the Jedi Master learns that Jabiim is still in the midst of war, albeit with these fanatic Rebels now using the Republic's weapons to fight back against the Empire.

If we had to hazard a guess, this will be where we get a live-action flashback to The Clone Wars

We'll have to wait and see, but we know from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that this group of Partisans one day becomes radicalised, paranoid, and heartless in their approach to warfare. This group is made up of those who can fight and those who can't, and the site posits that we'll see some join Bail Organa's Rebel Alliance, while others head down a darker route with Saw.

There's no word on if we'll get to see some familiar faces from Rogue One, but for hardcore fans of the Star Wars franchise, it's clearly the plan to flesh out some elements of that movie, so at least a handful of cameos seem likely.

After all, Lucasfilm is placing a lot of focus on this period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope in a lot of different stories right now, and it only makes sense for them to begin crossing over.

@BlackBeltJones - yeah. I've been avoiding pretty much every reveal or leak or spoiler or whatever so far, but I was intrigued by this one. Think so far nothing major has been spoiled for me

Fallen Order introduced some great characters to the Star Wars lore. I'm surprised the game isn't praised more.

I heard that Mon Mothma from Rogue One is in this, as well as the Andor series.
